First post in a few weeks......

I won't make a prediction on who it is......but I will predict that the biggest impact on this team will be made by someone 6'5" or smaller.

And that's where the impact needs to be made.

With that said, I hope that Garrett comes in with the attitude and will to be an inside player first. I'm not gonna put him in the same breath as a Tyler Hansborough, but that is the type of player he needs to be for us. Hansborough looks more like a forward type, but he plays like a true 5. He's just got that kind of mentality. If Garrett can do something similar for us, he can really help this team. Hopefully CGM will have more help inside EO down low than we have this year too, so we won't have to put all of our reliance on him.

But none of them will be able to do that if they don't have someone to consistently feed them the ball in the post.

we do not want to forget AJ in this new player mix, I think AJ. Garret, Hannah and Tourre will all have a big impact. On the coach's show CGM said that D. Kyles had a 30+ game. We will need some impact from at least 4 of these 5 players to get back with a 20 win season and finish in the top 4 of the MVC. Clevin will in my opinion have the most impact.

What is so exciting about this Class is that they ALL are players and will all get their chance to shine. AJ and Hannah should have the most immediate impact for next year. EO and Garrett could both have the most long-term impact. HCGM said tonight that he brings in only the recruits who have the potential to start and lead this team to winning Championships. HCGM mentioned how crucial inner team competition is in practice. He expects full throttle in practice and understands the significance of players competing for quality playing time. He also mentioned he redshirted his whole Frosh Class at Winthrop last year. Wow!!!

In the scheme of things, great Guard play is of essence in both the Valley and D-1 play. We also have been lacking in the solid big men. Therefore, this recruiting class has really excited me and we may add a few more. Wow!. Follow that up with another fantastic Class next year, and soon, we will be cookin with fire.

Look how quick Drake turned things around and are now a top 25 team all of the sudden. It was not that long ago, many of us picked them 8th or 9th in the Valley this year. Remember our Sweet 16 year. If I recall, we were picked around 5th that year preseason but won the Valley. We have the right Coach in place and he knows how to move the X and O's and he sure can recruit!!!!!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I agree... what's nice about next year is it sounds like any one of them could contribute in a very significant way. Marshall's recruiting is very encouraging.

As anybody who has followed my posting over the years knows.. I love BIG MEN! (That sounds kind of weird).

There are lots and lots of guards who can make an impact but VERY few big men that can. I don't care what type of a league the MVC is, if we have a legitimate center next year, the rest of the Valley is in for a world of hurt!

Recruiting is EVERYTHING in college basketball!

It's a great day to be a Shocker!

I do love big guards and it looks like big guard help is on the way.

When was the last time, we had a 6-5 point guard?

RDR, which do you love more:

                    Big guards, or

                    6'7" jumping jacks?

                      Pretty good question.

I guess the answer is the latter rather than the former.

When was the last time we had a 6-7 jumping jack, who could play well?

You don't see a heck of a lot of them bumping around the Valley. They don't tend to go hidden during the recruitment process.

Coach said last night he's trying to find one. I guess if we can't find one now, we'll have Aaron develop as one when he enters his 2nd year, OR have AJ or Mantas have that position and essentially be a stop gap until we find one.

Would Jamie Arnold fit that description?

I've never had a penchant for 6'7" jumping jacks (X excluded) but I have always loved 6'6" ankle-breaking and skywalking guards (Ala Jordan).

I also love 6'9" power forwards with big asses.

I also love 6'11"+ centers who are ugly, smelly, and have O.C.D. when it comes to dunking the basketball.
