Carl sees the doctor on the 14th and could be cleared to play. If so it would make him available for Illinois State.

I didn't hear anything about KU and K-State.

Wasn't Self recently quoted on this board saying, "We have nothing to gain playing Wichita" and what he left out was, "and everything to lose"?

IMO Dennis actually had a surprisingly good showing with his DW/MLK comparison. GM: "I don't know if he was like MLK, but..."

If Carl returns on the 16th for the Illinois State game, then it would be extra cool.

The Shocks play the Blue Birds on January 19 in Koch Arena.

I have been worried that he would not return in time for the home game against the Blue Birds. If the Shockers are to win the MVC championship, they almost have to win the home game. Some might say, "Must win the home game."

I didn't hear the show, but - really? MLK? -

"Free at last, Free at last, Thank God, Almighty - Free at last." (one of my favorite speeches of all time, BTW).

A GREAT speech...but perhaps a stretch in a Shocker thread...but since it's in...MLK's BEST ending of a speech cam the night before he died...riveting...

We lost that game last year, but won the conference by two.

The real question is would you rather lose to WSU (or any non-BCS team) in the regular non-con season on a road or neutral court, thus making you better prepared for the dance, or lose to them in the dance itself? You lose a game in the non-con season. You lose much more in the tourney....

KU lost to Davidson in the Sprint Center last year in what many thought would be a rebuilding year, and they made it to the national championship game with a team that by KU standards had marginal talent... How many times have their Cadillac teams been punked in the first or second round?

                  Think about that Bill....

If I had a choice of beating Creighton at home or in St. Louis, I would probably take St. Louis. Fortunately, it is not a choice we have to make so let's just be greedy and take both of those games. Whether or not we can get Creighton at home, we should be in even better shape for the regular season finale in Omaha on March 2nd, hopefully, with a full complement of healthy playes sans Evan.

Yes, you are right. I wuz way more confident of the team last year than I am this year.

I think we are better than last year. Not as offensive so far but better on defense and so, so tough. I think the offense is also coming on nicely, with Cle and Nick and DWill on certain nights and it will be better with Carl back.
