  • Missed the game today, am I correct in thinking that Cleanthony Early actually had 24 points in only 24 minutes? As FSF would say.... GROOVY BABY
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

      That's not how that works.

      • That was a good W tonight. What are the chances of the Shocks getting back in top 25 rankings on Monday?

Very good. Look for them to be 21 amd 23 in major polls.

Yeah, was supposed to be a point per minute. Probably got messed up because I was originally intending to talk about how efficient he was in terms of possessions.

Well, considering their past 3 or 4 seasons, especially last season, I think that's pretty respectable. Still sadly beats about 7 other schools in attendance in this league.

I did catch that, and you're right. That crowd was a morgue. Especially odd, given the opponent and score.

                • Watching a little of the replay myself, it's pretty amazing that this was an ESPNU broadcast and not a local Peoria tv crew doing the game. The slobbering over the Braves was excessive. It's almost as if they were the team leading the majority of the game..

I only saw two calls in the game that should have went the other way. One was the charge in the first half against Early, which looked like it should have been a blocking foul. The other, which was obviously a bad call, was the out of bounds to Wichita State, when the replay clearly showed it going off of White. Other than those two, I didn't see any problem with the officiating.

                          1) The charge call on Early was missed; no doubt about that one. Boroski even hesitated when he made it, as if he wasn't sure.
                          2) Not sure about all the Higgins bitching. Yes, he missed the ball going off Pickett after the Early block, but other than that he was fine.
                          3) WSU caught a break on the White call. He clearly touched the ball going out.

Reading this forum after the game, I thought Fever had 3 aneurisms - during the 1st half!

Cotton is just a basketball player. He is this years version of GH; the guy who gives up his body to help his team win.
His hustle and save of the shot going out (which lead to the Early trey) & decision to kick it to Williams for the lay in +1 was the death nail to BU.

I almost got a Cold-like man crush after those two plays, but that just wanders way too far into the weirdo zone.

Early is some kind of player. But he needs to remember that although he is a huge part of the machine, HCGM is and will always be the guy driving the bus.

Really fun to watch EO's confidence grow with each and every game. He understands his role and has learned to play to his strengths.

Good things continue to happen when DW is on the floor. He made the right decision to PLAY to win instead of HOPING they would win.

Do you think BU would have progressed to their current status if Les was still there coaching?

Above all, make the right call.

You think they made the right call with that double tech? To me Lemons was the one that bumped him and got in his face, I just dont know what Demetric was suppose to do.

                            • We didn't have the same angle as Higgins did. Besides, he was trying to keep the peace on the road. Different call at Koch, maybe.

In answer to SR, ...........I hate Higgins, and yeah, Geno is a coach.

                                New,
Neither you or I was on the floor at the time.

You can not go on video alone. We don't know what was said or who, if anybody, said anything.

Technical fouls are issued for unsportsmanlike conduct & that certainly includes verbal altercations just as much as the physical kind.

Higgins was right there in the middle of it and was in the best position to make a call based on what he saw & heard.
