That generation of competitor died out long ago. There are still a few rare examples but most will cry when they get a hangnail. I used to think hockey was the only remaining sport where true warriors still existed, but with all the recent lock-outs over money, I suspect they are going soft as well.

Sure do remember that a gymnast, a girl at that, showed a toughness just a few years back.

If this were the MVC tourney or the NCAA tourney, Carl Hall would be playing.

The CWS and the Olympics are not exactly the same as games in Dec and January.

This sucks, but Jake and Chad will get a ton more minutes and that is likely to help us in February and March.

One small calendar thing is that the the MVC tourney starts the second week of March rather than the first week of March. So Carl will be back to play in a lot of important games.

I think DSB may be referring to Kerri Strug's vault in the 1996 olympics perhaps:

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Unfortunately for Kerri she was done in after the vault and was unable to participate in the individual all-around and event finals she had qualifed for.

In a sport where sticking the landing is crucial, that was one gutsy, gutsy performance.

There is NOTHING wrong with this generation. I'll post some examples after I get back from my massage and manicure, oh and after getting my hair styled and highlighted too. Hmm, after that I need to go tanning and shopping for a new man purse. Ugh, and after that I have a guild meeting with my World of Warcraft clan. Yeesh, then I have to take some new photos for my Facebook profile. Dang, looks like I have a busy, busy day!! Old people just don't understand how much harder the younger generations have to work to look fab and the new pressures from society to perform at multi-player video games! It really is hell being us.

Hey! I remember that post. It is remarkable how quickly Carl Hall's thumb healed. I think I'll start referring him as Carl "Adrian Peterson" Hall.

We were either 6-1 or 7-1 without Carl.

Perhaps you screw a little differently than the rest of us?

This was one thread I did not need bumped. When I saw the thread title I about had a heart attack! I guess the idea to put all these bash @KCShox: threads into a single thread didn't pass muster! Then can we limit it to one a day. That way you can stretch this @KCShox: bashing out forever and not clutter up the board too much.

Yegads, any one who resurrects a title like (Carl Hall OUT) ought to be shot at sunrise, or sunset, or at anytime.

With the NCAA's coming up, I saw this post relisted and it damn near gave me a heart attack.

Shoxlax, I'll take a beer when Carl leads us to the National Championship, instead.
