I figured WSU was the reason people came to see games, not the opponent.

I do understand the row 34 issues. The poles in the building are really unfortunate. I wouldn't wanna be above those in certain spots. My point is games have been sold out before on a consistent basis with teams not even close to the caliber and national accolades that this program has produced at the current.

Again, though, there are many that would love to be there but no longer can. It has nothing to do with the seats. I would gladly sit behind a pillar just to get the opportunity to see this team.

Many, many I know and have talked to are in the same boat.

I figured for a lot of people, it was to be seen by other people and act important. Is this not the case anymore?

I should clarify that I pulled the Row 34 stunt behind a pole three times, and I'll bet I do it again this year. I can just see why those who may be less retarded than me would rather not pay full price for those tickets. I think if you cut Row 34 ticket prices in half, you might not have the same problem.

I'm not a fan of it. But I am a believer of the theory you are what you say you are. We can say it Saturday, and 21 more times through March.

I look at the polls and see us there. Top 25. I know there are more than 300 D1 teams. Can't be "Mid" anything and part of the top 8 percent.

I was actually surprised we had so many people at that game. I think it was a great turnout no matter our record or ranking. Aside from being ranked in the top 15 in the country, I would never expect us to sell out No. Col. on that weekend.
I can't imagine missing a Shocker game for the Heisman decision, especially since it was pretty much known who was going to win. Still, I had to chuckle when the 1st thing out of 3G's mouth at the Northern Colorado post-game press conference was "Who won the Heisman?"

The fact of the matter is, the current arrangement is not remotely fair, and that's why sellouts are hit and miss lately. I'd like to propose a few changes to our ticket and seating system to make it work better:

                        --- Realignment

You should receive free ticket vouchers if you sit above row 18. Let's call them Shox Stamps.

The 100 premium seat holders on the first row should subsidize about 2,000 seats. The remaining front row ticket holders and rows 2 and 3 should pay for about 1,000 seats. And rows 4 through 17 should cover the last 2,000 Shox Stamps.

                        --- Fannie Koch

However since the seats are free those on Shox Stamps aren't accruing SASO points in order to get better seating priority in the future.

I offer up the Fannie Koch program where we move Shox Stampers to lower tier seating of their choice, with the no money down promise to pay the full cost of those seats after 2 years (with interest). Since they promise to pay the full ticket price plus interest, WSU should come out ahead. Shox Stampers that cannot afford their seats after 2 years will get a bonus 3rd year in those seats after which they will be asked to move.

                        --- Athletic Department of Defense

The 90's were abysmal due to a bad run of coaching. As a response, our Athletic Department of Defense budget has been steadily raised to allow us to hire one of the highest paid coaches in the country. The end result is we are again a super power of the Missouri Valley conference.

The problem is our defense spending may have spiraled out of control now, and we have a lack of oversight. We need to understand why some players leave before they graduate, HC3GM's recruiting techniques, HC3GM's x's and o's strategy, Rosenboom's weight training techniques, and what Athletic Director Sexton even does. And even more importantly we need to be more proactive in preventing a downturn due to HC3GM and staff leaving.

Therefore, I'd like to propose new oversight by creating these necessary positions:
                        - Men's Basketball Coaching Czar,
                        - Czar of What Does the Athletic Director Even Do,
                        - Weight Training Room Czar, and
                        - Ticketing Czar.

                        --- KochCare

Over time wealthy people have locked in all of the handicap seating. Everybody deserves premium handicap seating, so I propose KochCare, where we will:

                        1) Move current, paying wheel chair ticket holders to rows 19+ which are still accessible,
                        2) Provide premium seating, free wheel chairs and crutches to the handicap Shox Stampers that can't afford it,
                        3) Require that ALL fans pay a handicap fee to cover the cost of the premium seats, free wheel chairs, and free crutches -- failure to pay the fee will be considered theft and violators will be turned over to the police,
                        4) Require that new fans that have never paid a handicap fee are more than welcome to the premium seats, free wheel chairs and free crutches,
                        5) Require that ALL handicap attendees, regardless of where they sit or ability to pay, are assessed by the Ticketing Czar's Handicap Panel as to whether their handicap is too complicated to allow them to attend any basketball games. For example, children with cerebral palsy will no longer be permitted to matches, even having demonstrated the ability to pay, because as they are not able to fully enjoy the experience and are taking up premium space for new handicap Shox Stamp fans.

                        --- Eligibility

These programs are NOT to be restricted to the family of graduates and/or people that have attended WSU. In the interest of being non-discriminatory, fans of other institutions such as but not limited to Friends, Newman, K-State, and Kansas universities. Not only are they fully eligible, I propose we provide buses from their locations to Shocker games and even give them free credit hours at WSU.

--- United Missouri Valley of Schools

As a conference super power, we have to recognize that our responsibility is greater than our institution. We have enemy amongst us that cannot get their players' parents to show up to games, can't afford toilet paper, and have rats in their stadiums that are starving to death.

I would like to propose a new organization: The United Missouri Valley of Schools.

This program will have each school represented as a complete equal in deciding how the conference is run and organized, but WSU and Creighton will be required to subsidize the other schools' tickets based on WSU's and Creighton's game attendance. For humanitarian reasons, WSU and Creighton must trade a portion of their sovereignty to make sure that each of their enemy is feeding their rats and have toilet paper.

Example: If the enemy decides that a CBS sports contract is not in WSU's best interest, WSU should make sure they are participants in Bracket Busters for all of eternity so that the enemy can have equal TV time on ESPN.

                        --- Attendance Security

In order to protect against a slide off in ticket sales due to retirees leaving, I propose the Attendance Security program. Those people that buy their own tickets will be assessed an extra Attendance Security Fee each game that will be put into a Ticket Fund and managed by the Ticketing Czar. To keep attendance high, those fees will pay for current retirees and Shox Stampers' tickets. Shox Stampers may also draw on the Attendance Security Fee early if they can demonstrate "need" to the Ticketing Czar. Even though there will eventually be more Shox Stampers plus retired fans than there are paying fans, we can address that issue at a later time.

                        --- Closing Thoughts

I know these initiatives are a little complicated to understand, but just go along with them, they'll work themselves out.

This thread is seriously complaining about 300 empty seats?

                            300?

If I remember right, WSU is top 30 in annual attendance and average attendance. There is nothing to worry about.

Not quite top 30, but still pretty good.
