I love watching the Shockers play basketball no matter who they play. No doubt that i enjoy watching Top 50 opponents more but I'll show up to watch them play and be critical no matter the opponent just like most of us on this message board. But there are times when I can't make it and I have to prioritize ( I will say that the Shockers are my main priority 99% of the time). If I can't make it, I try to sell my tickets and if I go low enough, I always find a buyer.

Having a 2-hour drive one way, I often go but have top sell the other two tickets because many of my friends still work and can't get off in time to travel and eat. Using ticket marketplace, and now it directs me through StubHub, I have NEVER had a ticket go unused...the longest wait I have ever had from listing to sale was overnight. Usually, the sale occurs within 15 minutes to two hours, whether two weeks,two days or on gameday.

It's what happens when you schedule cake teams like Howard, NCCU, WCU, and Northern Colorado. Stop scheduling horrible teams and maybe it'll be sold out. That said, I'm not worried. Most teams across the nation do not get nearly the attendance we get for games like those.

Half of those were set up by the Cancun Challenge. WSU had no control of two of those filler games.

I'm a fan of the Shockers. A lifelong fan from a family of lifelong fans. I'm certainly not the first or only fan to complain about the level of competition. And I'm hearing the same complaint more often from other long time fans. But we'll still be there. And we'll always be WheatShocker fans. But even loyal fans may actually want to see name competition. At least for a few games. And casual fans will probably not show up at all for this type of schedule. There is a lot more I could say on this subject, but I should probably shut-up before I get myself into trouble.

Maybe you should contact Coach Marshall about filling in as the team scheduler, since apparently it's a pretty easy thing to fix.

Nobody said it was easy, but if you're going to complain about a few hundred seats being empty, it's one of the reasons.

I LOVE it that we're b*tching and moaning about not selling a couple of hundred tickets to games against cupcake opponents. We expect to sell out every game, and when we fall short we get all over each other about it and accuse others of being bad fans or whatever. Trust me, I'm not being sarcastic or critical--this is a GREAT problem to have. The couple hundred empty seats are not indicative of a lousy fan base, but the reaction to it is indicative of some of the best fans in the country.

Cupcakes are a short term problem. Once we establish ourselves as a perrenial NCAA tournament team with some national recognition (ie Gonzaga or Xavier), it will be easier for HCGM to schedule bigger name opponents. This season is going to help out our reputation a great deal--this was supposed to be a down year for us and we are every bit as good as we were last year instead. The national brands just want to know that if they schedule us a couple years out, that we won't suck when they play us and they'll take a big hit to their RPI whether they win or lose.

Financial concerns are a completely legitimate reason not to be at the game. Not going because the opponent isn't high profile is a bunk excuse.

2. Sickness (including death in the family)
3. Inclement weather for out-of-towners
4. Boss is having mandatory party that conflicts

In all these legitimate cases 2-4, sell or give away your tickets in advance.

Any other EXCUSE is not acceptable, even your own wedding (that's just unacceptable planning).

Eric Church, Cotillion concert, ppv boxing, heisman decision, we're playing Northern Colorado. I think those play a huge role in last game, specifically the opponent. I was actually surprised we had so many people at that game. I think it was a great turnout no matter our record or ranking. Aside from being ranked in the top 15 in the country, I would never expect us to sell out No. Col. on that weekend.
