There was also a ton going on in Wichita Saturday night. Erich Church concert which I attended instead. (My ticket was used though). Chevelle was at cotillion. I believe there was something else going on too. Also Pay Per View boxing on. Tough night to play a not so very good team. Im impressed to hear we still had over 10k

Concrete pillars nor ticket pricing will matter...
... when Creighton comes rolling into town.
The issue of who the opponent is does matter.
Sure, the quality of the home team product is essential. But who they are playing matters too, especially to the casual fan.
What do you think will be the level of hysteria for coveted tickets in Shockland the few days before Dougie & Company come calling?
There will be fisticuffs, family break ups and general rioting throughout the streets.
Ok, maybe not that bad, but don't rule out the fisticuffs - especially in the local watering holes.Above all, make the right call.

Personally, I think they should just drop row 34 out of the capacity calculation, but that's a pretty big number.Last edited by tw805; December 10, 2012, 01:06 PM.

Note KSU's home boxscores that show 12,000 in attendance, but watching the game, there couldn't have been more than 5,000 folks there.

I think the key term here is fan"base". The "base" is showing up. It's the Johnny-come-lately, bandwagon fans (which every program wants and needs) that isn't taking up the slack. When you combine the down economy, ticket price increases (which are close to pricing me out), lack-luster opponents and other competing events, then you get the difference between 2005 and 2012.

I love watching the Shockers play basketball no matter who they play. No doubt that i enjoy watching Top 50 opponents more but I'll show up to watch them play and be critical no matter the opponent just like most of us on this message board. But there are times when I can't make it and I have to prioritize ( I will say that the Shockers are my main priority 99% of the time). If I can't make it, I try to sell my tickets and if I go low enough, I always find a buyer.
