My thought is that for who WSU is NOW, this is a perfect league...IF a great coach can be found....
I think 2000-3000 is a good estimate of actual attendance last night. I honestly feared 1000 given the last three games and the weather, so I wasn’t terribly disappointed. My expectations are not high.

When I got home I flipped on the end of kstate and Texas Tech. Apparently weak attendance is not just limited to us. Looked to me like the crowd in Manhattan was no larger than our crowd, if that, and we were playing a bottom feeder and they were playing one of the top teams in the big 12.

      • I don't really care about anybody else's problems, but I suspect that the greed of the players, their agents, and the NCAA has killed the goose that laid the golden eggs.

It will be interesting to see if the Shocks elect to fund a full 15 scholarships. If they do, that eliminates any walk-ons as the roster limit is also 15. Would not be too surprised if they gave Henry Thengvall a scholarship next year.

          • Have we heard anything from the AAC regarding possible conference scholarship limitations?

I'll admit when being pessimistic, but I fully believe we'll be filling 13+ roster spots next season. Feel free to change my mind.

That is really a disappointing take. What makes it so disappointing is it is a perfectly reasonable take in the current environment.

              • I realize what I'm about to say could be looked at as blind heresy, but in today's NIL/Tranfer world, relacing 11 players does not have to be the end of the world....look at Kentucky this year(I KNOW, I KNOW...IT'S KENTUCKY!) but when Pope took over he had ZERO PLAYERS!!! Now...he has a lot more to sell than WSU, but these guys he got are STRONG....the right coach can find the core of a good team quickly today(unfortunately, probs)...but can MILLS be that guy?

                I don't think so....

Anyone that played JUCO theoretically is also a waiver candidate. Not sure if we have any of those.

                  • Wow! I just "liked" 3 mostly "downer" posts from 3 longtime Shockerneters. Ouch!

                    • The chance to play right away could be an incentive to attract some decent transfers. CW will have the only starting spot wrapped up if he stays.

And the reason they are looking for playing time is? The cream of the crop aren't really worried about playing time, they are looking for the best landing spots to enhance their brands which includes the opportunity to play on national TV and perhaps deep into the NCAA Tournament.

                        • Based on current offers out, I’m still not sure Mills understands what we need.

TJ is medical RS and that is definite. No use wasting a year of eligibility for a few games. Help him get healthy and ready for next year.

                            That is all.
Eligibility? Is there such a thing anymore? What is to stop a Landry Shamet coming back for 1 million a year? 30 games 1 million. He's making 1.6 million for 80 games. Seems fair.

AND BACK FOR HIS SENIOR SEASON AND BACK IN THE STARTING LINEUP, LANDRYYYYYYY SHAMET! LOL

                              • About last nights game, anyone see Kevin jumping up and down in the 2nd half waving his arms trying to get our Shox to play defense with their arms up. It was classic, wish HCPM would show the same emotion consistently as his boss was last night.
