This is probably the toughest game of the first five in AAC play for our Shockers. A real chance to get off to a good start that could bring life back to CKA. This team will need to bring their own energy to Philly. When they play with enthusiasm and purpose this team looks fairly good. When they don’t we’re just another mediocre team.

Guessing below are our starters if Hill is healthy. A very winnable game, but current history says it will be close. They have no match for QB if we choose to utilize him.
1. Hill 2. Bell 3. Beverly 4. Washington 5. QBShocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

If we make it a point to feed Ballard and Boz, rebound, good Bell/Hill/Cortez show up, Washington keeps playing possessed and hitting an occasional three, we'll have a chance. Instinct is telling me the coaching staff won't have them prepared though. I'm hoping to be gloriously wrong about that like the K-State game.
Which Shocker team will show up? 1. The Shocker team that played inspired team ball that thumped K-State? 2. Or the lethargic team that was down as many as 22 to KC and played together some for only the last 5 minutes on our own home court?Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I hope I'm wrong, but this feels exactly like so many games back in the 80s but mostly 90s where we'd head out on a roadie to Peoria to start the league against a middling Bradley team with a group that should win. We show up and have to take a TO before the first media timeout, fall behind double digits and have to fight to just stay in the game. We never lead and optimism turns quickly to a 2-5 start in conference.
Please, for the love of Councilman Pete Meitzner (who has been seen at WSU games from time to time) let me be wrong this time.

Temple will collapse on Bell giving us 3 shooters to two defenders. XB must first kick out to one of them and then those three must be spread out and pass quickly to the one most open. Then, of course, the wide open shooters need to make north of 33%. If they execute and get wide open looks they should be able to do that. Limit offensive rebounds and take care of the ball. Simple game. Having said all that I don't have confidence we can move the ball smartly to create good looks or rebound. Temple 80-70

So my hopes and dreams of this conference season opener just flew out the window. I know you're just giving me facts, but wow, those are depressing numbers.
