It is true that college athletics is a joke and the NCAA is more cartel than legitimate organization. It is also true that the cartel is trying to get us to load the gun to be used in our own execution.

That said, leaving the arena half empty and/or surrendering it to an in-state opponent's fan base would be the kind of demonstration of apathy in the program itself that accelerates the negative momentum already in motion. I would like to think we won't follow being beaten by UMKC by just surrendering to the idea of becoming them.

Want change and to get back where we were? Act like that as a fanbase…

HCPM is not fHCIB - not attending as a “protest” is just apathy. Don’t get me wrong, I understand if you are apathetic and out at this point. But if you love this program you gotta fight, man.
Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

Of course, I’m pulling for the Shocks…always will. But, I don’t hate K-State. This would be a bit different tonight it was KU who would deign us worthy with us a visit. I think many feel the same way. It is incredible that this game isn’t sold out…or even close to it. But, I get all the reasons (and price being one of them). I also understand protecting the season ticket holders. But, the Shocks are in desperate times…which requires desperate actions. They’ve got to turn things around quick or the program is dead…for a long time. We are watching “pros” now…this is a different game. We expect better. Let’s get it. And, if one player plays “selfishly” for even one play, the coach should sit his butt down for the rest of the night. No exception…no excuses.

We can't be the only apathetic fanbase in America.

Although we have had an incredible run of getting kicked (or kicking ourselves) squarely in the grapes. It's been said, that can be very painful.

And you can't have the Marshall Golden Era without a lot of good fortune. The universe may be trying to balance things out a bit.

            1) Not conducting a proper nationwide search for a replacement AD commensurate to a nationally relevant program. (Kicked self in grapes)

            2) Covid. (Kicked in grapes)

            3) Didn't handle the Marshall situation strategically well at ALL with respect to the stability/continuation of what had been built. (Kicked self in grapes)

            4) Hired (not very bright) assistant with zero D1 coaching experience. (Kicked self in grapes)

            5) Conference was completely gutted and backfilled with nobodies. (Kicked in grapes)

            6) The kids beat the adults in court and broke college athletics (Kicked in grapes)

            7) Hired a slightly more proven head coach than Marshall's replacement (Kicked self in grapes).

I don't know if I missed anything, but it seems we've been helping to speed the fate of our grapes along like nobody's business. And boy are they sore!

Selfishness is the name of the game today. Name, image, and likeness.

It used to pay much better to play as a team. But the payment was deferred.

I hate to be "that guy" but if the line is KSU -1.5 ...

...If I was into sports betting I'd put some serious cash on KSU to cover.

I'm usually wrong when I make betting picks, even if I don't have money on them, so there is that ray of hope.

No one is protesting. People are making decisions based on a lot of factors. You can’t seriously believe people would be willing to pay $80-$120 a ticket for a program in this state against a team that’s not necessarily lighting a fire either. Are people supposed to just blindly hand their money over and not be upset at outcomes like last Tuesday? The program has a responsibility to prove itself and show results itself if it wants people back. If you expect people to throw money at a program after performances like Tuesday night (and there have been multiple this year) and just accept it, well that strategy ain’t gonna work.

Sums up my feelings as well. A win tonight will create some goodwill, but it’s just hard to get excited right now about this program. With that said, those who want to support and support with their dollars, more power to you.

Eighty for the worst seats in the house... or are those the fairly good seats?

if you are unable or unwilling to support the team, you should not be able to criticize the team. Pretty much hypocritical. All you do is pound your keyboard and complain. Be part of the solution not the problem. People like you are definitely not helping at all.

I am not blindly following and supporting the team. My eyes are wide open and cheering loudly. I hope we win. If we lose, it will suck but I will be at the next game cheering and support ing again. No one wants a winning team more than I do. I choose to be part of the solution. Criticize me if you want.

                            Criticizing the coach is baaaaad.

Criticizing the fans is good, tho.

Definitely a sellout. Definitely a ton of very feminine purple all over the place.
