Herd mentality, along with extreme negative sentiment, causes capitulations in the market that when consistently faded, can offer a fella a really good livin'. What "we" (not me) saw tonight, could very well be our program's bottom. You will remember Houston's program's V-bottom that printed on the very night we beat them like a rented mule. Sampson said he had never been beaten worse.
So... if tonight wasn't the bottom, it might be very close. Hang in there just a wee bit longer and see if human nature doesn't once again illustrate it's amazing predictability.
However, if we go on a listless losing streak for weeks, then... it might be wrist-slittin' time. Or, you could just check out until the trendline points solidly up again. It's your life.
the shocker sentiment index sure does have a lot of pessimism, unfortunately, this index does not work like the american association of individual investor survey where neutral to negative feels provide big future gains.
an astute technician would have noticed the rounded top from 2016 to 2020. the weakness was there in the team’s offensive and defensive stats but it didn’t show in the wins and losses.
while markets and basketball teams tend to bottom in a v-shaped formation, one must never reach for a falling knife. marshall’s v-shaped bottom was the home win over creighton when the good guys were 0-6 in conference and coach was 17-31 here overall. it was only up from there as he was 314-90 up to the firing.
as a former season ticket holder of a dozen seats and coaches club member I’m not interested in the arms race that is college athletics. never thought i’d say this, but if I couldn’t make a couple dollars through draftkings, I wouldn’t have an interest in college athletics much less the shox at all.
these are super sad times all around.

This season could go off the rails very quickly and end up much like last seasons record.
Poor personnel decisions are going to come back and haunt this team.
I've mentioned them multiple times and they are about to come to fruition. With a senior laden team albeit!
Yikes!
Do not be surprised if this team ends up with a 15-17 record when its all said and done.
That is all.Above all, make the right call.

You'll remember a thread I started right around the time of the "rounded top", proclaiming that Marshall had lost his edge.
Still didn't deserve what he got. Even if he drug the program down to mediocrity. He earned that slide.
It will be interesting to see if Mills can develop (and sustain) an edge. The tricky thing about turnarounds (and trading) is that you can be doing EVERYTHING right, yet still yield piss-poor results for a lot longer than anybody could imagine. This is the time to get into your data/statistics and remind yourself that variances are real and a lot of randomness must be overcome on the way to the "Final Four".
He's just gotta keep doing the right things behind the scenes and eventually it will play out on the court. The big question is... is Mills doing the right things behind the scenes?
Marshall thought he wasn't. And that was why he asked for his walking papers from Mr. Schaus.
P.S. Marshall's two edges = outrecruiting the conference he was in (couldn't do it in the AAC like he did in the MVC/Big South), and curating a group of players that could/would eat nails and glass on demand.
