Nope. He got nice applause on his introduction to the crowd I thought.

Maybe just a coincidence, but the font used for the numbers on the back of Tulsa's uniforms looks exactly like the Chickenhawks numbers to me . . .

    • What about them thar Shocks? If Carl Hall's block did not light a fellers fire, yourn wood is wet. FVV baby!!! Thats right. Early was not late. Now I see why Cotton leads the Shocker 5 out of the tunnel. Chadrack solidifies our inside game. Danny has some fine young players. I always wanted Val Barnes and Woodberry to be Shocks, but oh well. Nice win and we showed improvement and gained some serious fizz as the game wore on and our fresh reinforcements kept on pouring on the heat. We are 12 deep, strong!!!!!!! As I once said, "you sow the Golden Hurricane, then you will reap the Shocker Whirlwind." U like?

      • What a great all-around game for the Shockers tonight. The offense ran pretty well with various combinations. The defense was pretty stingy, and there were multiple highlight reel type plays. Cotton, Hall, VanVleet, Early, Lufile, Baker, Wessel, et al put in max effort.

        Keep it up, fellas.

        • Really nice to see FVV and CJ step it up. FVV game was outstanding on both ends. I was really impressed with CJ's ability to show on the ball screens and quickly recover back on his man.

Carl's great hustle dunk, followed by his hustle offensive rebound and stick back on the other end of the court was about as good as it gets.

We sit behind the visitor bench and I noticed the same thing. He did get a really loud applause when he was introduced. Credit our fans! When they cheered as they announced CU was behind they showed the ignorance. Until we play them or until they get to conference play we want them to win win win. Oh well.

            • That play where Carl rips the ball away from the guy hovering over the rim to slam it may be the play of the year. Sure wish it could make Sportscenter.

              • Everyone played and everyone scored. Lots of guys looked good, but a couple guys did things I hadnt ever seen before. FVV was a little out of control at times, but he has that ball on a string. It's a damn yo-yo, always bouncing back to him. Good passing and drive and finishes. On a a couple of possessions he just flat pulled the ball out of the Tulsa guards hands. Cotton had a big rebounding effort, and that dunk was rediculous! He just gathered himself in traffic, went up off of two feet and threw it down. Great vertical elevation!

                • We are really, really good at digging balls out of guys hands. How many times did we just reach in a pull away the ball? Danny's got some good, young players. It will be good to have this turn into a competitive series like the old days. The one negative tonight, even though their % was low, we gave up too many baskets at the rim.

By the way, although Danny was received warmly, the biggest applause of the night was for Garrett Stutz. Great to see him get his ring in front of the home folks.

No, a very classy applause when he appeared from the tunnel... I was proud of my fellow Shocker fans. Two thumbs up for showing class. I'm sure Danny and his family sitting behind the Tulsa bench appreciated the gesture.

Just about my exact words to Señora Rio as we were driving home.

Fred just gets better and better with each passing game.

Fred just has it. By it, I mean he achieves what you do not expect him to achieve.

As an example, Fred is not fast and he is not quick. Hence, one might think he might not be able to penetrate very well. Actually, just the opposite is true, He just has a way of worming his way down the paint and then he knows what to do with the ball, when he gets there.

He is so heady. He makes some very smart passes, he slaps a lot of balls, he gets rebounds and best of all, he just makes plays

That's why the crowd was cheering him? Because he was on a Kansas team that would actually play us?

                              • Baker played good.
Early needs to calm down as a starter, loved his passion but his shot selection was questionable.
                                Armstead LIVES for the buzzer-beater
White had a great defensive game
Our starting five was better, our bench was deeper, and our coach is more experienced. I think Manning will be a great coach it's just going to take time and get a veteran team, not a bunch of freshman.

Good team win, Refs were garbage. On to the next
