    • I'm tired of seeing our centers go double team and the opposing center roll unabated to the hoop for an easy score.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

I think you may have zoned in on the issue. Not sure what king of trays HB is throwing around out there but I'll give him credit for thinking outside the box.

Either that or they, especially QB, get suckered away from the basket all too often resulting in very easy buckets for the opposition. Poor rebounding, assist to turnover ratio upside down, but we managed a W somehow. Play like that tomorrow and you will really see what ugly looks like.

            • This was an extremely tight game all the way. Perhaps because both teams struggled to score the ball. The biggest leas of the game can when Minnesota took a 55-50 lead to play with 2:34 remaining in regulation. That lead lasted 15 seconds and thanks to Harlond's heroics the Shocks mananed to get it to overtime. The Shockers then matched that lead in OT at 62-57 with 3:09 to play and again at 64-59 with 2:21 to play and again both leads lasted less than 30 seconds with the Shocks hanging on and finishing the game on their knees in prayer as Minnesota's potentially game winning shot danced around the rim before falling off. A game that perhaps neither team really deserved to win.

A game like this is not necessarily terrible if you pull out a win and if you can watch the tape and take away some positive adjustments. This team should be able to do that as experienced as they are but I can't say I am confident that will happen.

Xavier Bell is perhaps the prime example. He is in his 5th year of college basketball and he probably has watched more tape on his own play than anyone. But nothing ever seems to change. It is like there is a total lack of self-awareness regarding what is a good, smart basketball play. Perhaps X and some of his other teammates simply are what they are and are not capable of change and growth. Coach Mills bears some responsibility for that as well although perhaps the hand he is playing has him boxed in as far as his options go.

Very true. When Beverly made that heroic 3, my thoughts shared here was that the MO was on the Shocks side in OT for the win. He went on to explain he knew it was money when it left his hand. Our Shocks are due for more close wins to even out for our benefit this Season I hope.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

He makes a couple good plays then makes some of the dumbest decisions you will ever see on a basketball court.
The last T/O after the time out was mind numbing. When he started his version of a drive into 3 defenders, Hill was wide open on the left perimeter.
                  Yet...
Bell still made the move to drive the ball into three Gophers?
                  Why?
Some answers to crazy ass questions will never be known.

Gotta give the team credit for gutting it out when things looked rally bleak!
Questioned Mills leaving Washington in after getting his 4th foul. Almost came back to bite him. But Beverly saved HCPM's bacon.

                  That is all.
I wanna know what goes on during film session. Or is there even a film session? I'm leaning towards the latter. Why does Mills give the freaking lead to Bell to play around with? Is that our best option? He freaking logged 34 minutes today. I don't get it. The only thing Bell should've been in there for was during free throws at the end. I cannot believe the JUCO type drive he did with the game on the line. Is that really the best thing we can come up with? And the turnovers after that? We tried to give the effing game away to a Big Ten doormat.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be 6-0 and playing Florida. But it's a very shaky 6-0. Beverly did save Mills' bacon. We have some good talent that's utilized horribly. There is no offense being run except after timeouts. Just bully ball. What a waste.

I have a feeling tomorrow we'll be getting a huge wakeup call and won't be lucking out any W's. This game and the Monmouth game are two pretty similar games with similar outcomes that makes me think we're closer to playing like this than not.

And our rebounding was PATHETIC at times. Guys just standing around, looking at the ball go back into a Minnesota player's hands.

                  Good lord that was frustrating.

                        • Have to come to XB's defense. He hit TWO huge baskets in the final 2 1/2 minutes of OT. Yes, made a bad decision and got stripped near the end but he wasn't the only one. Hill allowed himself to get stripped also allowing them to tie it up. We then got VERY lucky that they fouled us. QB has GOT to learn to keep his man in front of him. He gets lost way to often. I though BC had a solid game and HB.

That's XB in just about any game. He is what he is at this point. I wouldn't have the ball in his hands in crunch time. Just about every crunch time bucket he gets is negated by low BBIQ.

I could be mistaken, but did you not make a comment in the thread, and I quote “that win was about as satisfying as the Monmouth win.”

So you can make “hater” comments in less than 15 words and it be perfectly acceptable but then you crack down on me for expounding on your general feeling?

                                Freaking hypocrite.
