I'll be honest with you, Towel causes me more concern than any other BJ. There isn't a BCS team in the nation that wants to face a big guy that can light it up from three. It can really turn the tide in a game. As far as what goes on down low, I have zero worries. EO, Cle', and Beast are going to make things very unfriendly in the paint.

Destroy the Towel, and the rest of Club BJ will fold up nicely.

I would wager that The SoW will have memorized the smell of Cle's jock by the time the final buzzer sounds. I'm hoping The SoW can at least stay close enough to Cle' to be posterized. Please get that on film.

A fitting group for sCUm wouldn't you say?

Let's just hope he doesn't blanket us with 3's. DWill will need to deny him a clean shot.

DWill? I assume that towel refers to Wragge, whom is a power forward. Early will get the assignment.

I'm interested in who guards cyclops. Could be Hall, EO, or Lufile (who's size and skill set should be effective). It will likely be all three at some point or another. Also, their 7 footer, though not bad, will have a hard time with EO. I personally believe that HCGM brought in Lufile to shut down cyclops and that he is scheming for it during practice.

Multiple people will guard DM. Early may get the main shot but he won't be the only one.

Talking about Creighton, since they were on TV, doesn't mean we are overlooking Air Force, Tulsa, UNI, Southern Miss etc etc etc.

I do not think WSU will be 19-0 when we play them in Wichita, but who knows.

For all the haters who want to bash me. Here is the situation. Yes, Creighton is a long ways off. I had just watched them play on television and while watching the game, got to thinking about their talents versus ours.

Am I arrogant 89? I don't think so. You may notice at the end of the post as I wrapped it up, I continued using the word "may". That is because I know that the Blue Jays are very good and it will take the young Shockers a lot of coming together as a team to be able to handle them.

As far as taking one game at a time, I certainly hope the staff and players do that. However, as a fan, I don't understand why I have no right to look ahead and hope.

KC, since you never think about Creighton, maybe you should have looked at the title and ignored the post, or at least quit reading as soon as you realized what the post was all about. You do have that option in case you were not aware.

At least, I've learned to keep my thoughts to myself and will certainly do so in the future. I won't bother you with my musings anymore.
                  Hey @150946Shoc,

Don't worry about all of the "Negative Nancy's" and "Debbie Downer's" around here. If I had ever really listen to what they had to say about some of my posts, I would either be in Larned State Hospital or Osawatomie State Hospital by now. I mean really, you put your thoughts out there, took enough time to write what you wanted to say, and they could have ignored it if they wanted too, but they instead decided it would be more appropriate to attack you because well blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, we have to play Tulsa first. I mean heaven forbid someone talk about an upcoming game with one of our toughest opponents this year. Well anyway, welcome aboard fellow pathmaker, Welcome Aboard!!!

I just hope we don't try to run with them like Wisconsin and ASU did. If we make it a half court game, I like our chances. We need to dictate the tempo and not jack up a bunch of crazy shots which hasn't been our long suit to date.

How about jacking up good shots?

I wanted to ignore this thread because there are other games - lots of them - between now and when we play CU, but since it appears that CU and WSU may separate from the pack in the MVC, it my be appropriate to discuss how we stack up against the other top team in the league.

I think we need to run against CU. We have an overall faster team than CU at probably every position. We have a little edge on depth, and I think we have an edge on conditioning. CU is most dangerous in their half-court offense. I think we want to speed them up.

I think we'd want to make Wragge and Gibbs run up and down the court as often and hard as we can manage. Try to get the legs out from under Wragge's 3-point shots and try to get Grant a half-step slow in getting to spots and a half-second slow in making entry passes.

There's an old blues song, "I Am Built For Comfort, I Ain't Built For Speed". The Shox ain't built for comfort - they are built for speed. Speedsters include Armstead, Williams, VanVleet, Early, Hall, Wiggins, Orukpe, Lufile. Baker was a QB in HS and Wessel was recruited to be a D1 FB player at (I think) defensive back - those are usually speed positions, and I've never noticed Cotton having trouble getting up and down the court.

Wragge, Gibbs, McDermott, and Echenique don't have the foot speed that several WSU player possess. The Shox are built to run and still stay quick on D. CU isn't. CU is built to be a half-court team. Run 'em!
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I don't think Towel is playing the PF position if he is floating around the perimeter is he?

Howlin' Wolf is masterful with that song!

Don't worry, we are going to run BJ right into the ground.

Doug McDermott is going to learn from Cle the difference between a guy who puts up 20+ points a game with good rebounds and a guy who can do all that and play defense too.

He plays the stretch 4. He backs up SoW when SoW is on the bench, and the BJs play Towel and SoW together occasionally with SoW at the center.

Offensively Towel hangs on the perimeter and does a quick catch and shoot. Defensively he's bad guarding opposing forwards.
