Our 3 pt shooting was terrible. Hard to win games shooting like that. Monmouth made quite a few very difficult shots. I don't think we win this game without Bell. Why do the refs treat us like we're the road team.

You guys are ripping on the game plan thing, but no game plan in the world will help players who are just going through the motions.
Those guys in the 1st 4 minutes looked like they saw Monmouth's record and thought the game was a lay down.
Cortes looked like he had been hitting a king sized blunt before the game. Dude looked stoned.
I understand DeGray being hurt, he hit the floor freaking hard on that foul. Trust me, that floor is not padded.

Joy played with energy and gave the impression that 'This is the chance I've been waiting for!'
He just earned more minutes in my book!

And I know I've mentioned the Meeks injury status issue multiple times, but if he is still limping around the gym, Joy better get used to playing whatever position needed.
The old saying 'next man up' saying applies here.

When a team comes out lethargic and makes less than 50% of their free throws for a half, it is pretty obvious they were not ready to play. Seniors should know better.

streaming the game, Kennedy was very complimentary of the ref team. He's typically a little hard on the refs. I couldn't actually watch, but I suspect if we could shoot it's tonight, we'd think differently.

As much as the game sucked and as much as the shockers sucked, I feel like the offense game plan sucked even more. It was like watching a bunch of jr high kids playing a pickup game in the park. No defense, no rebounding, no passing, whoever has the rock, just drive it to the rack and throw the rock up in the air.
If this becomes the product, My wife will divorce me over my insanity. Ugly bad hoops, to say the least. That's on the coach!

That's exactly how it was. The players didn't act like they cared and the coaches sure as hell didn't act like they cared or put much thought into that one. If you're gonna load your schedule full of patsies to pad your win count, you better start giving a little bit more of a damn about actually winning them.

That was one of the worst "efforts" I've seen from top to bottom, from floor to bench, from players to coaching I've seen in a long, long time.

Just remember we started off 4-0 last year and we know how that ended. It's early, but it sure seems like we haven't improved much on BBIQ, running an offense, scouting a team, etc. Looks like some of the same crap as last year.

I see a lot of hate going on the coaches etc, but honestly? I think that’s all on the players. Just how many missed bunnies did we have? How many missed free throws? How many open 3s?

The players didn’t come prepared. And all I can say is that I’m glad I fell asleep during this game because I would’ve been raging in the middle of the night.

Another night of watching grandkid basketball , west side of Wichita version, so I'm monitoring score on the phone... Kennedy DID say in pregame their best player was now back and not to sleep on him...

to the comments about looking at an 0-3 record and thinking it makes for an easy game... THESE Shockers are not so good that they can ever do that...

Yep, if they would have hit their season average they would have won by 3. But then again if we would have hit our season average we would have hit 4 more and won by 1, hit our average 3 point %, 6-9 more points.....

Both teams didn't shoot well.

Two things about last night season averages don't mean squat, and the game is 40 minutes.

The one stat glaring at me is they out-rebounded us by 7. We settled down to make 9 of 10 throws in the 2nd half. We made more throws than Monmouth got to try.. Only 2-15 made 3 pointers? Sure glad Mr. Washington made our only ones. His last one was huge. So glad he joined our team. We heard so much good about Zion before the Season began. He has only barely played in one game? Hmmn? I thought MB played solid and that really helped.

For some reason, shortly after waking up I remembered when Chicago State upset our Shockers at home when X Man played for us. Last night was as ugly as a win I remember, but we won. We need Ballard and DeGray back healthy for our St. Lew. game. The Lews seem definitely improved this Season.
