If we want to relive and bring back old times, we need to get our game on.
Do we want more legit players here in the future?
Yea, the players now days get paid NIL, but a loud and proud atmosphere can go a long way.

It's almost like the crowd is afraid to show up and show out. Get up and be loud; this can be a very good season,
and if we want it to continue, we need to do our part.

We need to get back to 10,000+ days.

    Go Shocks!
We had the worst team in a decade last year and this was the first home game vs Montana State. Going to take a bit for fans to come back

Fans certainly need to step up, but so does ICAA. Lower ticket prices would help. Look, I get it that we need as much revenue as possible. And for desired seating, charge what you need to charge.

But, say, for Rows 28+, would anybody really be offended if those tickets were priced at $10 (perhaps $20 for Memphis)? It gives the opportunity for families to come in at a low price level. It might also give a chance for other people to buy a block and donate them. Selling those for $10 is better than not selling them and getting $0.

Right now, you can’t get into the UNI game for under $40. That’s gonna be a problem.

When we hear about NIL, Athletics reminds us that times have changed and that we need to be able to adapt. Well, times have changed for ticket purchasing as well. You can’t get away with selling $40 tickets just because you can anymore.

      • Need to devise a ticket plan that attracts lower to middle income folks. I started going to games in 1955 with the old man and got in for a quarter but it made me a fan for life........was a season ticket holder for years. Also need some sort of platform where sellers can go to on game day, or before, and sell their tickets for a reasonable price. Win win plus it would boost the revenue collected by concessions. Good lord they are charging over $4 for a bottle of water !

        • They definitely need to figure out their ticket pricing. I'm not saying you have to give away tickets, but most games start at around $40 for the "cheap" seats and that's ridiculous, especially when only 4500 are showing up to games. If we're selling out every night you can get away with things like that, but those aren't prices that are going to draw fans back to CKA.

Hell, I have friends that if they wanted to take their kids to a game it's going to cost them about $300 and that's not even against name opponents or having any concessions.

There's always a price point that can generate you the most money and what they have right now isn't it. Right now, I can't imagine paying more than $20 a seat to sit in the top few rows and their pricing those seats at twice that.

Wouldn’t StubHub or Vivid or whatever be that avenue?

              Yuuup.

Absurd ticket pricing + a team coming off a 12-18 year = half full crowds. And don’t even get me started with concessions. This ain’t an MLB game. This is a college basketball game that is in low demand right now.

At this point, the athletic department is getting what they deserve in regard to attendance right now. Sucks for the players to see it but the administration is tone-deaf and clearly doesn’t understand Basic Economics 101.

              • Maybe its just me, but I don't think $10 tickets are gonna bring people to the arena. We lost all momentum with the Covid shutdown and the Isaac Brown collapse. The only thing that will bring fans back is a Top 25 ranking. Just my 2 cents. The Dave Stallworth faithful are aging out.

$10 tickets isn't going to sell the place out right now, but you would get more butts in seats and generate a little more revenue, and revenue is very ****ing important with the athletic department right now. They're leaving money on the table with their pricing which is keeping some people away. Why spend $40 to sit at the top of the arena when you can easily watch from home or your favorite sports bar?

Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather watch a game in the arena with a packed house and feel that environment as I enjoy a game, but I'm not overpaying for that experience.

Supply and demand are a thing. Price points are a thing. The athletic department needs to figure these things out.

Let me reiterate. For desired seating, price accordingly. You need pricing integrity. I am not asking for $10 seats at halfcourt, Row 10 on the aisle. Doing that will alienate the people who pay good money for season tickets in that area. So for the lower bowl seats, do what you need to do.

But the goal right now is to get butts in the seats. Offering a modest price point for the upper 5-10 rows would be a way to do that. $40 a pop for a non-marquee opponent is not that. My family could MAYBE afford to do that once a season, and that's only because I love this basketball program. Others don't have that connection and thus won't do it.

Doc has been a longtime WSU supporter, both physically and fiscally (as 3G would have said). I point-blank asked him on Saturday night if he would be offended by WSU offering $10 seats in the upper rows. "That wouldn't bother me in the slightest."

                    • Agreed. We pay plenty for our season tickets down low and I would not care in the least if they literally gave away tickets for the top 5 to 10 rows. There's nothing like a full CKA. And the next time it is full better not be with 1/2 purple on 12/21.

                      • As someone who lives a little under an hour from the arena, watching on TV, versus paying $40 per ticket, plus gas, and maybe food, is mighty appealing.

I will still get to a few games, but at those prices, I'm much less motivated than I used to be.

My son and I usually only pull the trigger on tickets if one of the secondary market apps has tickets for $30 or less, including fees.

I will add, it's getting harder and harder to sit in the bench seats. Besides having zero elbow room, their height and angle are super uncomfortable on the back of my legs. I know, old man problems.

                            • How has the student section been?

Edited to add: I have to drive from KC now to catch a game. I'm not going to pay $40 for bad seats and then drive 2.5 hours. Most of my alum friends in the metro agree. We paid quite a bit for good seats in KC for the KU and KSU games, but trying to convince the fan base to pay $40 for tickets against Montana St. and other smaller programs, regardless of the team's quality, is asinine.

I wasn’t at the game. I reluctantly decided not renew this year after many years as a season ticket holder. Personal issues unrelated to the basketball product.

X is doing what Coach Mills wants otherwise he wouldn’t be playing many minutes. X puts pressure on the defense. Doesn’t always work but he is a better player than many believe.
