The last four words quoted above may be he understatement of the century. I'm watching this Iowa-WKY game and Iowa may well be the slowest, least athletic BCS team I've ever seen. Seeing Iowa's makeup, I'm pretty sure that AceDad would hate them.

Before watching this game, I thought Iowa may pose a few problems for you guys. After seeing them though, I am convinced that if you control tempo and get out in transition, you may blow them out. This is one game you don't want to turn into a half court, slow it down game as Iowa can really stroke it. Make 'em run and they may have a stroke.

Good luck tomorrow and nice win tonight.

    • I would prefer to see Iowa. I just loving seeing the Shox beat BCS programs and I don't care how good or bad they are. Bring on BCS teams any day of the week.

Thank you for the thoughts and compliments of the program.

Five of our next seven games are against opponents with RPI's better than 100. We are starting to get into the quality of our non-con schedule and will be interesting to see how well we keep developing and how we face stiffer comp.
RPI's are meaningless right now, even though I get the gist of your point. Our competition continues to increase as the month progresses.

              • In 6 games, we've had 5 different leading scores and that doesn't count Mal who essentially won the VCU game.

I would have bet money I saw CJ out there for a minute last night. My eyes are worse than I thought.

Jake White gave us good minutes last night. His stats don't just wow you (6 points, 3 boards, 1 assist 0 turnovers in 17 minutes) but stats don't show him finishing shots (unusual for our team last night) and taking, by my count, 116 charges. Well done young man!

HCGM is 11-8 against BCS teams since he's been here.

He was great last night, but he had some great games last year too (only less minutes in those games).

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

                        • The highlight of this guy's Post-WSU game rant:

How hard is it to rebound when you’re a Big East team going up against a mid-major? You’re bigger, you’re more athletic, and your IQ should be better.
Gee, that was educational. I never realized all those things were automatic just based on the conference you belong to.

                          • This dude obviously didn't watch the game. The bigger, more athletic and smarter team wasn't wearing DePaul unis.

                            • Well then I guess they *shouldn't* have been blown out by ragtag Gardner-Webb at home either. I guess they also *should* handle Western Kentucky.

                              Just blatant college basketball ignorance.

However, I will say most of their fans over on their boards are pretty knowledgable and level-headed.

                              • At one point in the game the announcer said, "WSU is small in stature but big in heart." I was like, "Wtf?" Is he watching the same game I am? It's pre-programmed into these commentators' brains to automatically discount a non-BCS conference school. I can only imagine what they were saying during the Butler/NC game. LOL!
