Coaches poll is a joke. Those guys are coaching, not looking in depth at scores and teams.

The voters who voted for Wichita State on ESPN.com's Power Rankings are, Andy Katz, Dana O'Neill, Jason King, Stephen Bardo, Dick Vitale, and Jay Bilas. Those are people you want in your corner.

Yeah, that runs the spectrum from off the cuff talkers to the more pragmatic types.

Props to the Shocks for getting up quick. Now they are in a great position to continue to build their rep.

Early in the college basketball season, it's become clear that, although there are plenty of good teams, there are few dominant ones as parity takes hold across the nation.

I didn't know where to post this. I figured it is relevant to this topic. Vitale mentions WSU plus many other smaller programs.

That's why I've always called it the Sports Information Director's poll. Because I'm betting it's the SID who votes on behalf of the coach.

Texas Southern had a chance to beat Colorado at the buzzer. Headed to overtime on the Pac 12 Network.
