It will help with the Raw NET sure. But Indiana state had a great NET (28) last year and missed due to no good wins. The key is have enough good wins, but then instead of non-d1 have low level D1 that you can beat the crap out of. Right now we just have the 2nd part and bunch of middling teams that really won't be good wins but could be bad losses.

Certainly not criticism, and I appreciate the difficult circumstances, but their roster simply isn't as good as last season. I don't think it's unfair to USF to say that.

        Using current KP rankings

        Non-Con: 0 Q1 opportunities (1 if we match with Florida in 2nd round), 4 Q2, rest Q3-4

        Conf: 2 Q1, 6 Q2, rest Q3-4
WSU's non-con is looking better since they haven't taken a bad loss (and hopefully won't).

          • Surely we aren’t UNI resume hunting, are we?

Do some of you think we’ll be in contention for an at-large bid this year? I don’t wanna douse the 3-0 optimism already, but come on…

More likely to be an auto than an at large. At this point I don't see the AAC getting more than one in. This league looks to be down this year, while WSU is a stair or two up from last year.. But we need to win the conference auto-bid to get in, I believe.

In my eyes, non-Memphis at large hopes in the AAC are limited to North Texas and WSU (if they can both win 10 games in non-con without any bad losses) and FAU (if they can make a run at the Charleston Classic this week). USF also doesn't have a bad loss yet, but they don't have a ton of opportunities to build a resume in the non-con. Everyone else needs a miracle.

                • If we can rattle off 6-8 more wins without a loss, we'll start turning some heads nationally. As we sit right now, we're not even on the radar for NCAA bid. Just keep winning and improve a little bit every game. If you're a fan and live nearby, please attend the games, the team needs you.

The athletic department really needs to put unsold tickets on sale on the day of the game. The handful of secondary market ticket prices aren't too bad, until the extra fees get added on, which seem to typically be $10 a ticket. Just put all the unsold seats up on game day for $10-20 (depending on location) and they just might get more butts in the seats!

Cold rainy day. Fewer walk in people will probably be the norm tonight. Maybe I'm wrong. Price those tickets at the door for $10 and you would hopefully get some takers. Stands to reason that you're leaving money on the table. Season tix holders could care less if they overpaid compared to a walk up. They're committed to the program, in attendance anyhoo and want big time environment. If the Shox do well, more people will want a slice. It's a no brainer, but someone(s) over there hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire with business decisions the last few years. And Go Shocks!

                        • Getting an at large for any team outside of the power conferences is hard. Also-rans in the power conferences rack up Quad 1 losses and somettimes get Q1 W's. They at least have chances for Q1 W's. Even tselections for the NIT are skewed toward favoring teams from the power conferences.

Getting into post-season play isn't as easy as it was in the Marshall era. An undefeated team out of a conference like the AAC or the MVC when WSU went undefeated might get a double-digit seed in the tourney because of the lack of Q1 opponents compared to lesser teams in the power conferences, Post-season play is geared toward the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

                          • This really sucks. In my eyes, with a team as full of seniors as this, we *have* to figure out a way to make the tourney. If we don’t, how’re we going to command respect enough for good teams to play against us in the non con?

Being only marginally better does *not* cut it.

Set up a hotline for all Sedgwick, Reno, Butler, Harvey, Sumner and Kingman county area high schools. FREE tickets (limit four) for as long as they last. It fills the seats and markets WSU to the surrounding counties.
