Pensacola hosts the Sunbelt tournament the week before the AAC. 10,000 seat arena. Southwest, Delta, American and United fly there. Non stops for Temple, Charlotte, Rice, North Texas, FAU and USF. Beach vacation.

Can’t trust those squinty eyed west siders always driving into the sun. EastSiders unite.

An arena with a 5-6k or so capacity in a city that people would think about visiting for a weekend even if it wasn’t for basketball. Nobody is trying to go to OKC or Ft. Worth for leisure. New Orleans, Nashville, Miami, Orlando. An arena with easy access to places people want to be.

I don’t care if it is one of the conference’s home team arenas. On TV the crowd for the final last year looked like a Thursday night crowd at the Valley tournament. Butts in seats should be the conference’s only concern.

Shocker82/85 Redneck Riviera? You having a laugh? Nobody is getting on a plane to go to Pensacola unless they are in the Blue Angels.

Why do people keep saying Orlando? Attendance there was a disaster even when UCF was in the conference.

Also, I hate St. Louis. I hope I never have reason to go back to that **** hole.

Attendance was miles better in Orlando than Ft Worth. Play at the State Farm Field House instead of the Kia Center.

St. Louis has its warts, but being driving distance to all schools had it’s advantages. My $.02 is that leaving the Valley has turned into a poisoned chalice. Definitely need the benefit of hindsight for that.

Can’t have it on a team’s home court. Low major.

I agree, but sometimes we just have to bite the bullet and buy pants that fit.

Thinking maybe the Toyota Center in Houston could be a logical place for men’s, with the women’s tournament at U of H.

Not sure how Houston would be any better than Dallas. Neither are cities people want to just travel to and still pretty far from most of the schools plus farther from the 2 schools with the 2 biggest traveling bases (Wichita and Memphis)

Guess it all depends on which city bids vs. fans wish list.

Perhaps Andover High will put in a bid.

The only chance of filling it up is putting it close to the teams that have fanbases that will travel when their team is good. That's us, Memphis, and who else? Temple? There's a few schools that I'm not sure even have fanbases. Put it somewhere that is a reasonable drive from Wichita and Memphis and hope we both have good seasons, as much as it pains me to hope that Memphis has a good season.
