I'm not trying to jinx the team, but I would agree if Coach sent Armstead a message this would be a good time to do it. Here's the point, though: We could probably play EO at point guard and beat DePaul. I think they are a horrible team.
Iowa, now, that might be a different story. If we don't bring our "A" game, we could very well lose.

The Shockernet Sewing Circle is working overtime today.
In Gregg Marshall's system, it matters more who finishes the game than who starts. Starting is purely symbolic and relatively meaningless on the road.
Gregg Marshall is similar to CB in that he doesn't have a very strong filter on his mouth. He talks tough and sometimes people take that to be more serious than it is. I have watched HCGM in practice say some pretty humiliating things to his players, but it isn't personal. He is just being himself. He isn't a soft-spoken lily. I'm sure that in the following day's practice there wasn't even a mention of what happened in the Howard game. It's a new day and since HCGM picks his gametime players based on what they do in practice, the slate was wiped clean. That's not saying he won't remember it in case a pattern develops.
HCGM knows how important MA is to the Shocker's success this year and he isn't walking around holding grudges. It's all business with him and if you produce in practice, you will play. If MA is still ill and sluggish in practice, he probably won't play too much in the next game. If he is feeling better and really gets after it he will play and probably start.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Wasn't DePaul predicted to finish the Big Least 15th? I would say that is bad and this is a bad team. Now, if you are of the mind that you believe the Big East is the best basketball conference in the nation top to bottom, then a 15th place team in the Big East would be the equivalent of a top 3 team in the MVC or Top 5 team in the Big 12. Not me. We should beat this team and beat this team by 15.

That doesn't really change anything though, and I agree with you that this is a game we should win by double figures if we show up with our heads right. But DePaul should not be an RPI drag this year. Last season, the Big East had 2 teams tie for 13th. Their RPIs were 88 and 120.
Edit: I checked a little further back to see where 13th in the Big East normally lands you in the RPI.

Looks like it's pretty consistently right around #100.Last edited by Guest; November 18, 2012, 08:37 PM.

I actually think Williams brings leadership to the squad and can be a big spark plug for the team. If he continues to stay in control and watch his turnovers, I don't see how he doesn't get a good amount of minutes and a starting spot. I like MA but DW has paid his dues with 4 years now with the program. I absolutely love the energy he brings to the game.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
