It is easier to recruit kids at this level to Wichita State than to Colorado.

        Oh.... well that's patently wrong.

The University of Colorado is one of the finest public universities in the country. It is also one of the most beautiful and picturesque campuses in the country, and located in a city that is continually ranked as one of the best places to live. CU has been a member of a BCS conference for as long as anybody cares to remember. If a 4-star recruit is being targeted by Colorado as well as Wichita State and both coaches are HCGM, we are going to lose every time.

The success of a basketball program is 89.6434835% due to the man at the helm and the rest to the intangibles surrounding the program. Tad Boyle recruited some fine kids while he was here, but most don't compare to what HCGM has brought in. Put another way, HCGM would make CU a VERY competitive program in short time.

CU has a ton of intangibles to sell to a recruit. It was probably the best place in the Big 12 to be a college student. Folsom Field is probably the most beautiful place to watch a football game in the country.

I think some people haven't quite realized what kind of a coach HCGM is...

I want to say a few more things about Colorado University.

I like to think of CU as KU but with better academics, a better campus, residing in a better city (Boulder vs Lowrents), with a better major city (Denver vs KC) nearby. Also, once recruits acclimate to the elevation, they hold a nice little advantage over visiting teams as they have higher red blood cell counts. If I was a coach at Colorado, I would sure have a lot to sell incoming students. The campus life is pretty incredible.

Sorry, Cold. You lost me at Colorado basketball having success.

How many times has Colorado been to the tourney in the time since "anyone can remember"?

Quick research indicates 11 times with only 10 wins. 3 times since 1969.

            A MONSTER advantage.

In fact this past years NCAA win was their second since 1969.

Coach Boyle has done as good of a job there as Coach Marshall has here.

Didn't Casey Crawford play for Colorado?

Then that explains Cold's hard-on for the Buffaloes.
              Deuces Valley.
              ... No really, deuces.

Colorado's lack of success in basketball is baffling considering what they offer the prospective student athlete. I suspect it has a lot to do with not getting the right coach as well as their emphasis in football. They do have a pretty solid football tradition. That being said, if HCGM went to Colorado, their basketball program would rise significantly.

The last thing I want to do is imagine Marshall at any other school.

Strong football tradition + ideal campus = 44-73 record over the last 10 years (17-43 last 5 years)??? That might be worse than 90's Shocker basketball.

If HCGM went anywhere else in the country that institution's basketball program would rise significantly.

That argument leads to Northern Colorado. They didn't have a reputation. He built it from scratch. Now he is at Colorado doing the same thing.

No one is happier that Coach Marshall is here, or having the success he is than me. I've been called a homer a couple times for strongly defending him.

But Coach Boyle is in the same league as Marshall as a Coach. They are /were great representatives of WSU, and have a passion not only for the game, but the young men who play for them.

An Air Force victory would be a plus.

Yea, and I hope UNI beats Louisville (probably less of a stretch).

Your comment is bordering on disrespectful. Boyle couldn't recruit his way out of a wet paper bag compared to HCGM.
