I don't think there is a need to be discouraged from a scrimmage. Same with being encouraged.

I am very cautiously optimistic myself.

"It’s difficult to find a balance in an event like Shocker Madness. The Wichita State men’s basketball team wanted to put on a good show for the crowd of around 2,000 who spent their Saturday evening at Koch Arena. But the team, which practiced earlier in the day, also couldn’t compete too hard to risk injury.

For the most part, WSU threaded the needle and provided an entertaining intrasquad scrimmage, which saw Justin Hill score five points in the final 30 seconds to lift the black team to a come-from-behind, 24-23 victory over the yellow team. Following the scrimmage, senior sharpshooter A.J. McGinnis won the 3-point shootout title. .."

Per the above KAKE News Report:

The three-point contest saw junior guard Kyleigh Ortiz lead the first round for the ladies to reach the final, before fifth-year guard AJ McGinnis survived a shootout to advance, ultimately coming out on top to be crowned champion.

Relax Stick. AJ won the 3 pt. contest as you probably already knew. From what I read here on SN today, there is positve Shocker hope in the air.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

It was a joke lol. I agree, much more to be hopeful about this year than last year.

I will say this ... if I were the head coach of the men's basketball team with this particular mix of players, I would be dying to run these horses in actual matches to see how good they really are. There is really good potential here if they can get past all the injuries.
