  • SIU hanging tough at Western Kentucky. Barruh seems to have the SIU boys playing much, much better basketball this season.

WKU 56 - SIU 55. 1:48 remaining. SIU seems to have the momentum and seems more confident.

      • WKU 58 - SIU 57. Wyoming transfer Desmar Jackson lead SIU with 22 points. He had a wide open 17 footer with about 8 seconds left in the game that would have given SIU the lead and he had a guard 3 pointer at the buzzer that bounced off. WKU had left the door open by missing the front end of a 1+1 and both ends of a two shot foul on their last two possessions.

Another close but no cigar effort by the Valley.

        • SIU misses 1 FT and 2 jumpshots in the last minute to lose by one. The FT would have tied the score. Either jumper, the last with 1 second, would have given them the lead.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

          • Evansville pounds Miami (OH) 94-68 in Evansville and they only had to rely on Colt for 18 points.

Northern Iowa 76 - Northern Colorado 59 in Cedar Falls.

            St. Mary's 88 - Drake 73 in Des Moines

Tulsa drills Missouri State 61 - 42 in Tulsa.

Not a great night for the Valley going 2-3.

Well they do have two big wins against Philander Smith College and Malone Unversity.

I bet they thumped their chests while drinking from the victory chalice after those two matches.

May have even flashed the goggles and slashed a throat or two.

                      • The last time Missouri State beat a Division I opponent was on February 12, 2012 against Bradley. Seriously. It's been 10 months.

Fixed it for you. Philander Smith and Malone are both NAIA I believe.

edit: Malone plays in a D2 conference but doesn't become a full member of D2 until Fall 2013.

I wonder if that one MSU fan still thinks the Bares will finish ahead of WSU? The Guttin character? Last time he was here, he seemed to still be hanging on by a thread that the Bears would improve enough to finish ahead of the Shocks.

D12. Man, the NCAA has really expanded it's divisions.
