Mvc is where non closers go to be almost good and never get it done.

Anyone who questions our 8-0 record needs to look at all these non closings happening.

Actually, it's worse than that. They were up 19 three minutes into the 2nd half.

Well, Illinois State joked away any opportunity of an at-large bid. That officially gives the MWC the Challenge. And it also is another tote on the board of MVC Moral Victories. Pathetic.

Beating a bunch of cream-puffs was never a problem for Gonzaga. I think we may be better off with our resources in a terrible conference.

The WCC also has had a few quality teams at the top along with Gonzaga, resulting in several multi-year bids for the league. Until we do some damage in the NCAA's like Gonzaga has ROUTINELY and develop that pedigree, we need all the help we can get. We are not Gonzaga, at the moment.

If you think being a 14 seed from a one bid conference is fine in the ncaa tournament then these games don't matter. But if you want us to get a decent seed and some good national recognition so that we can continue to recruit great players then these games do matter.

BTW it matters to coach, that is why he left a good situation at Winthrop to come to WSU. If the Valley sinks to being a perennial one bid league, coach will definitely move on to a team in a better conference.

Holy crap - you think the only difference between Winthrop and WSU is conference affiliation?

Fever, Gonzaga was the only real team for about ten years. They lived on their reputation and inflated win / loss record. Based on our current reputation the MVC can't have a bunch of landlines in the form of plus 200 RPI road losses.

WSU will be graded on the results it produces.

Gonzaga also played about 5 games road games a year, every year at ranked teams and won about 40% of those from 98-07. Paul Westphal's Pepperdine was at-large quality for 3 of those years, and St. Mary's picked up the slack on the back end for about 4 seasons. Arguing that Gonzaga was stoked about playing in a conference full of ninnies for a decade is hogwash.
