Southern Miss isn't going to win this game but they sure have made a good impression on me. They're gonna be tough.

EDIT: USM's best player isn't even on the court tonight. Wasn't feeling well and has missed the game. Geez.

USM will be very tough. They gave a top 10 team all they could handle. Playing without their best player on the road they made a good showing. It ought to be a very good game in Wichita on Dec. 22. I hope our fans who haven't bought tickets yet get the message.

Not saying that USM won't be a tough game, but until LA Tech dropped a turd tonight, I expected USM to come into IBA with 3 losses and no wins against forecasted top 100 RPI teams. Their best win to date is an overtime win at home against Western Kentucky. Best (only) road win over Georgia who also lost to Youngstown St.

Western Carolina almost pulled off a nice victory at Illinois last night - too bad almost doesn't quite get it done.

Tennessee at Virginia tonight will be a good chance for a nice win by one of our non-conf opponents.

Also, Missouri St. is at Tulsa, and I'll be rooting for Tulsa- MSU is a lost cause as far as an RPI-killer, and that would be a huge stinkbomb of a loss for Tulsa.

However, we do play MSU twice so I would think every little point they can gain in RPI can't hurt. I'll be rooting for the Bears tonight and for Tulsa the rest of the season.

Tennessee has gone on a rather impressive scoring run and now have 10 points at the under 4:00 minute mediat timeout. Of course, Virginia has 21 points so they will have to string quite a few of these 4 point runs to get back into this game.
