It's also much better than some of the buy games we're scheduling with 200+ teams.
Right. It's not like we're doing a H/H with Valpo, UIC, Evansville or Illinois St.

My how the mighty have fallen.
So long as these games don't become the marquee non-conference matchups I don't think it's much of an issue. WSU still has four power conference opponents on the docket this year.

However, I do agree with your post above and would still like to see additional H/Hs with schools like Mizzou, OU, and OSU on the schedule as well.

What is their NET the last 5 years?

Of course it’s gonna be better than any buy games but we’re giving up road games to Western Kentucky and Northern Iowa when we used to be doing it to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri, etc. That’s my main point. You would never be celebrating a home and home with a Valley school 5 years ago.

No flopping please. This seems to be good timing to bag some Panthers. I remember their big Dance win versus KU,
and then the biggest lead lost in the shortest time at the Dance.

With Martin back in Springfield that could be a potential home and home down the road. Would offer a nearby road trip and could be a quality game. It will be interesting to see how they progress within the Sun Belt

I think, someone check me if am wrong, but the last time we actually had 13 D1 Non-Conference games, was in 2012. This was the last year of ESPN Bracketbuster games.
The rules were a bit different regarding the MTE played in and the number of games. We could only play 30 regular season games if the MTE was a 8 team field that gave us 3 games (like Orlando or Maui). If MTE involved 4 games (2 home games and 2 games at event site…like KC, Cancun, etc.), that’s when we got 31 games.

The counting rule has changed in the last couple years and might just let us have 31 games period. And like it has been mentioned, we seem to have had a non D1 game in the recent past.

I just hope they don’t try to put another guarantee game there. That was a colossal fuster cluck to have last year’s game against South Dakota State.
Included in that fuster cluck was the pantsing that the Jackrabbits administered to their gracious hosts.
