But HCPM sounds better on Mondays...
Yeah. Great point. I can't argue with you on that. It is baffling. Wide open lanes. No charges on the season that I can remember. Guys out of position, etc. And this is the effort side of the court. Anybody, regardless of skill, can at least give effort on defense.

They’re too busy looking at the metrics and figuring out the best spot to shoot their jumpers.

While we’re piling on, how about the Mills pre-season quote that he doesn’t want guys working on their weaknesses but rather sharpen their strengths? I guess bad defenders like Colby just spend the entire practice shooting from their spots.

I'm pretty sure most of us remember how anti-Turgeon coming back I've been, but I'd take him right now over this steaming pile.

And I agree with ShockHat that I'd have much rather rolled the dice with Sampson or Griffin. Hell, even before this I had both higher on my list of coaches that I'd rather hire. Both came with risks but I feel much higher upside, and I doubt we'd be seeing such horrible play with either of them running the ship.

According to very good sources Turgeon was asked and declined. Smart dude.

Guessing that means he exceeded our budget

I originally read that as Kellen Marshall, and I was on board with that.

That or he wasn't going to make his youngest son move during his senior year. Not that we should have waited, but had the timing worked to where the opening was this upcoming offseason, I think his answer would have been different.

There seems to be a lot of reasons why it would have made more sense to make the move this year instead of last ...

Not all of them. Some were very visible last year. (Contract situations). Not having a home run lined up is semi hindsight. I think most thought ADKS had one lined up, but he didn't.

Though yes, the performance reasons are definitely hindsight

Who are you talking about here? I sure hope it isn't Ballard. He is a decent shot blocker but not even top 10 in the country.

QB has two distinct strengths. Shot blocking and not trying to do more than he can do which has resulted in his high FG%. Seems to have a great attitude, as well.

of course it's ballard. in one of their televised games, a few back, maybe temple, they showed some graphic where ballard was first or second in the country in blocked shots per minutes played. and he also had seven blocks last night.
