Suellentrop just tweeted that 7,800 tickets were sold as of Weds morning. Somebody is off by a few thousand and I doubt it's him.

Thanks Fever. These are Christmas presents so I will head over today.

What has been reported in Shockernet has been tickets remaining per the IBA web site.
I am not sure if the big arena sponsors like Intrust Bank, Cessna, Spirit, House of Schwan, Pepsi and Cox receive any tickets as part of their sponsorship deals or not. If so, that could account for the difference.

According to the interactive seating chart there are currently 5,782 seats available. 1,974 in the lower bowl and 3,808 in the upper bowl.
This does not include the premium seating. The two Exective Suites (2 x 16 guests), the Loge Boxes (I think there are 24 with seating capcity of 4 to 8 each), the Club seating (150+) and the Party Suites (2 x 32 guests).

The remaining tickets must be either permanent suites, floor seats that may be added for an event but aren't permanent and maybe corporate sponsors. But the total never adds up anywhere close to 15,010 as I recall. I remember looking at this pretty closely a couple of years ago, trying to figure out the total amount of revenue that could be produced by a game at INTRUST.

Kstate is playing #8 Florida on Saturday in the Sprint Center. I clicked on the Sprint Center site to see the ticket prices and if it was sold out. It is NOT sold out and I was surprised at how much CHEAPER the Kstate tix are than WSU-So. Miss.
The cheap seats are just $10 for Kstate-Florida (as opposed to $17 for WSU), the middle upper deck is $20 (as opposed to $29 for WSU), the lower bowl ends are $30 (as opposed to $39 for WSU) and the lower bowl seats between the baselines are $60 (as opposed to $67 for WSU).
Kstate is playing the #8 team in the country and they are charging significantly less than the WSU promoter is charging for So. Miss! And K-state has NOT sold out their game.
I have to believe that if WSU were playing the #8 team in the country with those ticket prices we would sell out easily.

If USM were ranked in the top 10 or if their name was Florida and not ranked in the top 25, either would be a sell out at IBA, probably even with the current price structure.
One should note that a larger venue has the luxury of generating the same or larger revenue than a smaller one with a smaller ticket price. Also, TV money adds to that pot to keep ticket costs down.
