A friend of mine gives a modest recurring gift to Armchair to be used for Olympics sports…but hasn’t heard anything from Armchair in a year.

Fundraising 101: Don’t suck at donor acknowledgment.

I was signed up to receive their newsletter, but can't tell you the last time one showed up in my email. I know they're still active because I've seen them referenced/thanked here and there, but haven't seen or heard anything out of them in ages.

Radio silence is definitely not the way to generate interest or giving.

I would say this extends to the larger athletic department as a whole. In my experience there has not been much outreach to long-time donors. Not at any point over the past troubling 3 years. Baffling.

Step Three: Small doubt, can he win above the Summit League?

Step Five: Larger doubt, how much more time does he need for God’s sake?

Some on board are at Step Three, most are at One and Two.

Set your clock to it this is order of progression on every fan board of any coach that doesn’t win their latest game.

Or the easy way:... you can hibernate over the next 2-3 years and wait for this cycle to bottom trusting that Saal will be under enough pressure and have enough time to make a solid hire. I don't see how Saal could be Boatright bad or for that matter Perkins bad.

Saal's hire of Paul Mills not looking good but Mills will get at least 2 more years to try to move the needle.

Not sure about WBB coach Terry Nooner. Not off to a great start and I don't find him all that impressive. Then again, from most fan's perspective, it's WBB so does it really matter that much other than to keep WSU Title IX and NCAA D-1 membership compliant.

Both guys need to have some very significant success in the portal and roster reconstruction to make much difference next year.

So far I like what I am seeing from Brian Green but it's still quite early. A very successful baseball program would certainly help but it isn't going to carry the athletic department.

WSU will no doubt kick the can down the road a couple of years and if at the point things have not turned around the Day of Reckoning may be at hand. What exactly that means is hard to say, but there is a good chance it will not be good. A lot will depend on whether or not the well-heeled denizens of Wichita thinks WSU athletics are worth saving. With all the changes going on in college athletics there is no guarantee they will come to that conclusion.

I have been told that ACS's realized that they did not anticipate how much time and effort the NIL program would require.(Duh) They have said they are currently seeking to hire an NIL manager.

If that’s even remotely true then the program needs to be torn down and done properly with the right people behind it.

They posted that here over a month ago. Also said to expect an announcement in the next couple of weeks, and that never happened.

There's a reason this board has little to no faith in Armchair
