Just a hypothetical. Is Paul Mills basically Scott Thompson? The similarities between the two coaches, the coachspeak, the mannerisms, and player/personnel issues are eerily similar. We were here back then, attending games. I mean Scott T. was supposed to be a good coach. It's what fans were led to believe. Same with PM. Just very strange. And there is a reason why this next saying is not just a meme (and there are thousands and thousands of examples that can be posted of this), it's a guaranteed fact of life in the world of coaching (and parenting to a degree)...

I see so many parallels to the coaching fiasco that Nebraska football went through. Bad AD's making bad decisions and having to settle for bad coaches. My reaction when I heard about Mills' hire was, "Who?" I was expecting a name that at least a few people had heard of, but since that didn't happen I expected maybe an unknown young aggressive coach looking for an opportunity to build something and make a name for himself. Paul Mills is WSU's Mike Riley (Smilin' Mike, the nicest man in football), and the sooner the Powers that Be admit it and move on the better off they'll be. It won't happen now, but it should. You can talk all you like about getting rid of players and upgrading the roster, but tell me: what have we got to show any good player why they should come here?"Long wave the Yellow and the Black..."
