And 100 foul calls against us when we played Kemba Walker didn’t help. Wasn’t that the same season? We win that game easily with a fair whistle.
That’s an aggravating memory. Shocks beat UCONN in all aspects but couldn’t overcome the stripes. Fouls 17 to 31, FT’S 13 to 44. UConn went on to win a Natty.

Could have been a perfect trip to Maui.
I am not sure that you could say perfect, but at least a very beneficial one. That first game was so important. A win would have given us a game against #2 Michigan State and another game against either #9 Kentucky or #11 Washington.
Instead, we got useless games against Chaminade and a not-yet-great Virginia team. In the RPI days, even two losses in the winner’s bracket would have looked so much better than the two wins we did get.
You know it's REALLY bad if the ref publicly apologizes.
I was in Maui to witness that travesty; the refs literally ripped the hearts out of all Shockers fans in attendance. We were collectively stunned as the game concluded.
it was definitely a “talk to me Ross” moment.
