December 1, 2001. Not quite 3 months removed from 9/11. Man, it's hard to make those timeline events mesh in my brain.
Shocks travel to Gallagher Iba Arena to play Oklahoma State. WSU rides the young but stout shoulders of freshman Randy Burns who wills the undermanned Shockers to within 2 points of the Pokes. Alas, that's as close as they would get.
Doc turns to his infant daughter as the final horn sounds and tells her that we're going to be ok. We've turned the corner. In that loss, I knew great things were on the horizon for WSU basketball.
