Since the rules are being litigated still, they are just laying down for now. So kids can at least have clarity when they make the decision to transfer.

The NCAA is paralyzed by current and future litigation. They would rather be powerless than fight lawsuits against P5 schools.

This is not new from what I’m reading. Just means if you transfer now you can play first semester 24-25 instead of potentially needing to sit post-injunction end.

Sign of caving to the pressure of litigation in my opinion. They can’t control the landscape so the have effectively given in. The injunction may stand for legal effect but in the end the NCAA is probably done fighting it. Otherwise, appeal ruling and battle until there are no more venues left.

Sounds like the US DOJ is joining the lawsuit against the NCAA about transfer restrictions.

Sooner Rather than later we are going to see absolutely no restrictions on transferring

Also of note, it is apparently also challenging the 4 years of eligibility rule

Miami TE Cam McCormick granted ninth year of eligibility

Miami tight end Cam McCormick will return to play for the Hurricanes in 2024 -- his ninth season of college football.

Wait you're saying some of us Shockernetters may still have eligibility?

An aging Joe Montana joined the Chiefs and still had a bit left in the tank. Why not Grant Gibbs to WSU?

Any time government gets involved in these things, things fall apart.
                        Didn't government start the NIL?
Now transfer rules and soon, schools paying players based on revenues.
NCAA was bad enough, but this stuff is way worse.

There used to be a defined line between amateur athletics and professional athletics. Now it's very muddy.

                            High schools are next.
