May not mean much as Henry has not written anything, however, he's added very recently to his Facebook, Hargrave Military Academy as a "like" and A.W. Hamliton (post graduate head basketball coach) as a "friend". Over the past 10 years, Hargrave has had 101 players sign Division I scholarships including a number of future NBA draft choices.

From the horse's mouth Henry will be sent to prep school inhopes of returning. Also Hawkins will be sent to either prep or juco unless their is a small chance that he will pay his own way and be a partial qualifier like the boys were at KU this year

Partial qualifiers must pay their own way the first year, right? How many years do they get to play after that?

Which horse would that be? 3G, Henry or an assistant coach? I wasn't quite clear on that point.

72, if that is true, what must they do acedemically to play their second year? Troy Mack if I remember right, got to play as a fifth-year senior, because he had his degree in four. Anybody remember?

I think you are right about the degree. However, I am not sure that the degree was the linchpin, which permitted him to play in his fifth year. He had five years to use his eligibility.

Did he use his eligibility in six years?

iirc you need the degree to get back the year of eligibility. without it they only get three playable years.

I don't follow, what year did Troy Mack have to "get back"? Was Troy's 5th year to play actually his 6th year of college for some reason?

Cannot play as a freshman, not eligible. Played as a soph, junior, senior. If at that time, he has his degree, he can play his fouth year of basketball in his 5th year in college. That's a partial qualifier.

From what I can tell, even though the term still gets used, the NCAA has done away with the partial qualifier category. Instead, schools can file initial-eligibility waivers on behalf of non-qualifiers which can either be conditionally approved, fully approved, or denied. As such, I don't believe that there are any special rules for those that receive approval for this waiver, unless such rules were part of the conditional approval (although for the most part I believe conditional approve governs issues like being allowed to practice and/or receive financial aid even if not being allowed to play).

Right but the five to play four still applies. You just burned your first year of elegibility and didnt redshirt with a schollie, correct? I dont see what a degree would have to do with anything?
