I watched a little of practice today: We have lots of "makers".

Our mix would allow us to start so many different combo's and sub in another 5 and not skip a beat. There will be so many close calls on abilities that it will come down to who is hot, who is not, and match ups that are needed game in and game out. Baker, FVV, and Mitchell may not start, but if we need zone busters off the bench, these 3 will light it up. My buddy really liked the passing of FVV. Just how much time will it take to mesh all of this talent into a winning team that is very tough to beat? Most everybody will pick Creighton to win the Valley. However, we will not just roll over and I think a 2nd-3rd finish by our beloved Shocks will happen.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Im anxious to see how we will be defensively,i kno we will have scoring ability with the athletes and scorers we have here and the ones still on the way. Want to see wessel bring his defensive toughness, armstead bring his defensive prowless, and for eo to be a true shot blocking presence this year.

Are they playing pick-up games? Anybody have anything to report?

Take out Orukpe and add Hall. No way he is on the bench to start the season.

I have to agree. Hall is the only safe bet to start the whole season. I think Early and/or Wiggins will be starters at some point, but probably not at the beginning of the season.

Early will start at the 3, White at 4, and Hall at 5

I read Lutz's article and I don't know how correct, but he stated that they were starting Early out at the 4 (summer practices). If that's true, I would doubt that he would already be learning two positions (especially if he is struggling a little). Hall, on the other hand already played the 5 and 4 last year. I'll wait and see what is right.

Early will play the three and the stretch 4, which is essentially the three on offense (i.e. Ben Smith last year). I don't think we will see much difference between the 2, 3 & 4 this year in offensive sets. I think Hall will be able to do quite a bit of damage in the post when the opposing PF has to be tight on Early/White on the wing.

                          EO
                          Hall
                          Early/Wiggins
                          Williams
                          Armstead

at least, at the beginnig...coach likes upperclassmen as much as possible IMO.

Could be but according to the article, Early and Wiggins are currently playing two different positions.

You're basing that on what Lutz said. I have a hard time believing that they both won't be spending the vast majority of their time on the wing.
