For me, perhaps the most postitive thing about this move by ADKS, athough I guess we don't know this for sure, is that its a strong indication that he has successfully reached out ot the big money donors and convinced them to help him right the ship. Looking forward to see how he handles this coaching search and what kind of financial package he is able to put together and who he will be able to entice to lead the program. I don't think it is overly hyperbolic (although maybe a little) to caste this hire as perhaps an existential decision for WSU athletics.Comment

Perhaps, although I would expect any suitor will try to get him on the cheap at least for the first 3 years since he has the security of the WSU program to fall back on. Especially if that allows his new employer to divert more resources to his recruiting budget, etc. And yes, your point about picking up the pieces at another program in turmoil is a very valid one. But with the current transfer environment just about any new position he would get will likely be a rebuild.Originally posted by shockersx View Post
In any case, I wish Coach Brown well in his future endeavors. He is a good guy. Not sure if head coaching is his forte, but he obviously is better prepared to take an another head coaching challenge now than he was 3 years ago.
I certainly, don't feel sorry for him. He has fared very, very well financially thanks to FADDB, and he is leaving WSU with life-changing money.Comment

Another indication that this was likely coming, I noticed in last week’s This Month in Shocker News email (or something to that effect), there was no mention of the men’s basketball team…while all other sports currently in season, had some information, including women’s basketball.
I am happy. I plan on increasing my donations, to what I financially and reasonably can, I hope others do the same.Comment

So far ADKS has impressed me. He hit the ground running when he arrived reaching out to fans. Now he showed leadership making the move to fire Brown when it would have been easier for him to give it another year. I trust him to find the best coach for us.
