Second half same scenario. We could be like hockey and refer to them as the first line, second line and third line.

Sorry this did not come with a disclaimer in that I really don't know what I'm talking about.

      • we are so loaded that even decaf makes me high just thinking about our beloved Shocks. We are more loaded than a frog hair. We are so loaded that the bluejay fans have destroyed their WSU NIT signs from yester-year. We are so loaded, there is a rumor they may re-open Shocker Mountain for ShockerNetters at 21st and Hillside? WOW!!! WE ARE SO LOADED!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Not sure I know what that means, but you may be watching too much Call of The Wildman!

          :biggrin-new:

Maybe we can make that into a cheer. Call of The Wildfans!

Cross your arms making the W sign with your hands, yell "Live Action" and then that high pitched yodeling call the Turle Man makes.

          • It is always groovy when a SN dignitary adds to the Shocker vision. 1972 was a good year.

It was a good year. It was my first year as a senior at WSU.

For how many years were you a senior? :congratulatory: (Two of my brothers were seniors for four years. I skipped my senior year (i.e. graduated in three years).)
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Well SOME of us had fun in college. But yes my senior year lasted 3 semesters plus a summer session.

                    • I really don't think anyone has answered the original question but we are as loaded as Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong in real life.

                      • Excerpts from Pual Suellentrop's wrap-up of the Summer session on his Shockwaves Blog.

Marshall describes Early as “raw” and said he made a lot of progress over the summer, in part because he had the most to learn. The task with Early, it appears will be adapting his natural talent and basketball instincts to the demands of Division I basketball. “I told him (Monday) he was probably the most improved from one day to the next, from the start,” Marshall said. “At the beginning, he may have been the worst out there. He had a considerable ways to go, but he certainly improved.” Marshall mentioned screening, cutting, defending, taking good shots as areas Early figured out over the summer.
Junior center Chadrack Lufile, a transfer from Coffeyville, didn’t start practice until July. He impressed Marshall by showing up in shape. “He was a pleasant surprise,” Marshall said. “He’s going to have an impact. He’s in pretty good shape, and I was expecting him to come in out of shape and not ready for this. He was able to compete right away and not be a laggard out there.”
Marshall mentioned several of the second-year players, such as Evan Wessel and Jake White, understanding the system and the demands of Shocker basketball better. Wessel, before a knee injury slowed him, made a good impression on coaches.
Freshman point guard Fred VanVleet is WSU’s top high school recruit. “Really solid,” Marshall said. “Easy to coach. He understands. Very competitive. Winner – that word keeps standing out.”
"Carl’s improved his skill level and his understanding from a year ago, it’s certainly apparent,” Marshall said.

                          • I was a little surprised (and disappointed) to read that Early is "a bit raw". We need to expect some of that from JuCo guys - even the top ones.

I think that makes it more likely that White will be the primary backup at PF. If Early has a lot to learn, he's likely to spend this season learning just one position. From what I saw of White toward the end of last season, I've got no trouble seeing him getting minutes in bunches.

We make a lot of comparisons to Hatch when players are hard-nosed, work hard, and seem to always be doing more than it seems they are (or should be) doing. White could be a 6'8" version of Hatch. White was a great shooter in HS. Since he's been working on shooting this summer - and reports are that he's stroking from 3 - he brings something completely different to PF than Hall. Could drive opponents nuts switching between the two of them there.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

                            • How good are we? There will be times we will pull our hair out and other times we will be in awe. To answer the question though will depend on how soon all of this talent can mesh together. If that happens sooner than later, watch out!!!!!!!
