KW - That's not what BOBB said. He used the words damaged and embarassed to describe his "state of the program". This goes much further than just stating that we won't begin the season with a winning team. I too would predict a difficult beginning to our season this year but the team may be pretty good by MVC time and the next year, we should be even better.

Haha thank you for reviving this thread! We turned lufiles thread into a thread entirely not about him-I might be quite a bit to blame-and I feel guilty as if he is watching and getting mad... Is there a way to just copy and paste the last day or so onto here? :) LOADED is right. We can't even figure out where to play anyone.

I also really really really need someone to revive the who wants to see the future of Shocker basketball thread with some videos please!!!

Here's how loaded we are:

We have a top 100 guy who plays point. He's going to get to learn the system every other Valley team plays while he's learning Marshall's system because our 4-star PG is going to be playing on the scout team. Just in case you think that's a waste of lot of talent, think about this - next year when VanVleet is the likely starter, he's going to know what every other PG in the league is going to be running against him.

I'm going to add this scout team to the legacy of Marshall's coaching genius. How many players will be here next year (2013-14) who will be running scout this year? In addition to learning Marshall's system, next year's players are learning what their opponents next year will be doing.

If the scout team is 2 walkons and 3 mopup guys, it doesn't do much good for the program if those guys know what the opponents run. When the scout team is next year's starters, they're going to know every system and player tendency in the league.

I've got some confidence that the coaches can convince the players to wait until it's their time, get some critical minutes this season, and know that when it's their time, that they will be better prepared for having been on the scout teams this year.

When we say we are extremely loaded are we talking about ShockerNet posters or about the Shocker's Basketball Team?

In the case of the former I think there is little argument that's the case. In the case of the latter there is certainly reason for optimism, but I've been fooled before by scrimmages, highlight videos and exhibition performances. Hope and change don't always work out for the best. I'm definitely optimistic but not ready to render a final opinion on how loaded the Basketball team is just yet. One thing I do anticipate is that this team should be significantly better come March then they will be in November.
