This salutary news on Carl "taj ma" Hall was gargantuan in terms of our beloved Shocks making a run in the Valley race. Keep in mind, our better Juco players do 'raise the bar' in terms of performance their Senior Seasons, as a rule of thumb. Thus, we shant underestimate how special this news will pan out to be. Carl is the a beast on the boards and will help "lead the charge" this coming Season. Remember from Creighton who confessed that Carl played the toughest D on him last Seasnon. He's backkkkkkk!!!!!!!Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State junior forward Carl Hall has been granted an eligibility waiver by the NCAA to play basketball during the 2012-13 season, Head Coach Gregg Marshall announced today. "We received wonderful news with regard to Carl Hall's fourth season of eligibility and sixth year of college," Marshall said. "The medical condition with his heart early in his career kept him out of basketball for the better part of two seasons, and the NCAA viewed favorably on his situation.
"We are looking forward to having him with us for 2012-13. He will graduate, then start working on a master's degree. I know it is a big relief for him, and we anticipate a very productive senior season."
Hall played three games at Middle Georgia College in 2007-08 before a heart condition ended his basketball season and he was granted a medical hardship by the NJCAA. He then attended Middle Georgia in 2008-09 and did not play basketball, but played again in 2009-10. He then transferred to Northwest Florida State Community College for the 2010-11 season.
He then transferred to Wichita State in 2011-12, earning All-Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Year, while starting 19 of the 33 games he played. He averaged 8.4 points and 5.0 rebounds, while shooting 57 percent from the field for the Shockers, which earned an at-large berth into the NCAA tournament and won the regular-season MVC title.
"The NCAA bylaws allow you to ask for a sixth year, or to participate in four seasons of competition when a student-athlete has been deprived of the opportunity to participate for more than one season in his sport within a five-year period due to incapacitating physical circumstances out of their control," said Korey Torgerson, Associate Athletic Director/Compliance & Student Services . "Ultimately, the NCAA Student-Athlete Reinstatement staff agreed with the mitigating circumstances the university presented and granted Carl the waiver."

That's great the NCAA made a quick decision and Hall is eligible. The Beast is back and that is AWESOME! I'm jumping on board with the rest of the sunshine pumpers and expecting BIG things this season.Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

It just seems like Hall is the linchpin that ties it all together for next season.. experienced frontcourt man, holding things down while the newcomers, frontcourt and backcourt, develop. Of course, I think his return will help upperclassmen like Williams and Orupke, too. He's the linchpin, isn't he?
