I'm scart of WstateU because he has it posted about slapping the fire outta some people, and I figure since I am a man of few words (tsk, tsk, tsk), I am bound to be 'higher than a kite on a windy Kansas day' on his slap list? YIPES, STRIPES, BEECHNUT GUM!!!!!!!

Tensions on the board

I don't know if I should be proud or embarassed of the fact that after, what, RoyalShockerCat, 12?, 13? years of posting and perusing (for the last five or so years, mostly the latter, but previously much of the former), I am so far removed from Board pysche that I did not know there were any tensions in the first place. Sounds like they've been resolved, though, which is usually a good thing.
-kai-, keep up the good work. And 789 is my roll number. Phi Kai Phi.Wear your seatbelt.

When I first joined, I remember ShockRef, Double Dribble, Preacher Pork Chop, etc. and I think Steve Eck was on here but can't remember his handle. Some of the SN folk were here as well and prolly also changed names since then. We did not have that good of teams then but this Board was always very active. I can remember talking about games at 2 a.m. in the morning on work days, but seem to be more wise than that now.
We used to get some KU traffic that were somewhat arrogant and even those of us that fueded some would team up on that and send them off mad for a spell. Shockerfever and the Good Doc do an extroadinary job handling our rude visitors these days but yet 'they and we all' try to be nice to the respectful visitors which are many. SN is exactly what a Shocker junkie as myself needs to get my daily fix. Whether I post or not, I am on here most days and really have fun with it and have an improved basketball IQ from reading other perspectives on here. Thus, I too thank Kai, Royal, and all the SN Staff for your efforts to make this possible.Last edited by forevershockerfan; March 22, 2012, 02:45 PM.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I've been a Shocker fan since the 60's. I attended WSU from 1969 till 1973. I've been living in Arizona since 77. It was almost really impossible to follow the Shockers. Often the paper didn't have the previous night's score. I found Shockernet in 2005 and now can follow my beloved Shockers.
I love this site and I am so thankful for all the fans here and their input.
Thanks to one and all!

fsf, I grew up a KSU fan. Back in the infancy of ShockerNet I still had some KSU fandom, mainly for football, hence, ShockerCat. That little bit of KSU favor faded within a few short years, prompting a series of name changes, in no particular order: ABC, wsu789, shocker3 and RoyalShock. Now I post under all of them.
Ok, ok . . . that last part isn't true. :)

A ShockerNet Picnic would probably have to be organized like Festivus. A baseball game would be perfect. The flagpole or foul poles can serve as our ceremonial pole, everyone brings something for the dinner, which would then be followed by The Airing Of The Grievances (via smartphones on SN of course) and The Feats Of Strength. I say we invite Xavier McDaniel to be the "head of household" for whomever wants to challenge.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss
