That article that ******* wrote about Heiar doesn’t exist anymore because that website shut down. Sounds like it was a shitty deal that gave no warning to staff.

The program had a student kill a student from another school, had severe hazing allegations, and was shut down under his watch. His description could have been MUCH worse.

While not untrue, a little simplistic.

He had a student who defended himself from attackers and ended up killing the student who was shooting at him from another school. Having a gun may have been against team rules, but was not against the law which is why that kid was never charged with anything.

The hazing is bad, but there have been reports that nobody ever informed him that anything was going on. Those being hazed claim to have reached out to assistants and were told it would be handled, but Greg claims to have never been told until the time it came out. You can definitely argue that he should have better control over his team and you'd like to think he'd have assistants that wouldn't keep such information from him.

NMSU also had other administrative problems as the President I believe ended up having to resign and I'm not sure if Mario has somehow survived all of this or not.

What’s the point of writing an article about the worst hires? As sports fans, we certainly love lists, but that just seems like an unnecessary ploy to talk crap on people in the name of journalism. Nobody gains from an article like that.
