Yes, the CHEATIN' CHICKUNS have wealthy alumni (so do we). Do you think Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, and OU have wealthy alumni? Michigan endowment $17B, Ohio State $7B.

Again, the advantage K|Uck HAD was its basketball-focused CHEATING relative to other power schools who spent most of their NCAA payoffs on football. That RELATIVE advantage is over. This has nothing to do with Cheat-U's ability to raise money, this has to do with them not having a competitive advantage. In fact, it would be prudent to say they are now at a clear competitive DISADVANTAGE if you factor in that they are now trapped in a former power conference.

Their revenue opportunities are dropping while their cost of staying At The Same Level has just gone up... considerably. Meanwhile I hear their football statdium just cancelled next year's orders for napkins and toilet paper.

Absolutely correct. I never said K|Uck will become irrelevant, just that they will slip back into the pack a bit.

In a strange way, these NIL deals have the potential to shake up the top of the leaderboard a bit. That's probably a good thing for the average college basketball fan. It's a bad thing for the die-hard chip-on-shoulder non-power college basketball fan.

Wonder what Jay Bilas will think of a final four that consists of OSU, Alabama, Texas, and Georgia. No blue bloods to be found anywhere. The basketball tournament is going to look more and more like the college football playoffs.

Yup. And it's probably going to be great for ratings, thus advertising, etc. etc. These are the bad aspects of Capitalism. The market will always find equilibrium. Survival of the fittest. Nostalgia and feel-good stories need not apply.
