    100%

If any of the programs wants to try to generate $$$ and interest, the university should help them do what they can to help make that happen

I am left with a suspicion the secret Boatright big raise and extension and it's recent reveal might have come in to the picture. To me what was done there is suspiciously criminal and/or an attempt to deceive.

You can raise a helpful amount of money from smaller donors if enough are willing to chip in.

However, until we have a clear and honest assessment of where the program is, what the administrations' goals and expectations are, and what the administrations' long-term plan is to achieve those goals, it is hard to get too excited about throwing good money after bad. For me, at a minimum ADDB would have to go or be gone and President Muma needs to express a clear vision of how he sees athletics' role at WSU in addition to laying out the assessment, goals and expectations and plan of attack.

Considering the lack of transparency we are seeing so far with this administration I am not holding my breath that any of this will be forthcoming.
Yea, the lack of any transparency really makes even small time donors like me pause. I want to help the program and if I knew where my money would go, I would donate more but if it's just going to go into a backdoor hidden raise to someone that I don't think should be with WSU anymore .. i'm not going to give any extra. I'll likely back off my donation to the bare minimum to keep my season tickets IMO until a change is made at AD.

I would 100% donate more if I knew it went to something directly benefitting the team .. not to waste.

Bingo! That's the slap in the face. Not Marshall making more money. You mean to tell me that you can give an incompetent do nothing boob a 37% raise but you can't buy me some cheap weights or renovate the weight training facilities that actually go towards helping student athletes, unlike Doucheboat?

KR: Hey, we really could use some new kettlebells and resistance bands. Shouldn't cost more than a couple thousand dollars.

ADDB: I would love to help you with that, but unfortunately I have a vacation in Turks and Caicos I need to pay for.

This will turn out being a much-needed “weeding” project. We’ll find out who the real supporters of the program are over the next few years. Popcorn popping commencing now.
Laughable but expected, considering the source.

Bingo. It’s that line of rationale that buries many athletic programs. It’s unbelievable that some people in here share that line of thinking.

Even more disgusted. I thought my level of disgust had been exhausted but here they go and make my disgusted bandwitdh ever more plentiful. I'm stepping in disgusted it's so thick right now.

I fear we are no where near hitting rock bottom.

                      • Just want to say, while I'm new to this site when it comes to posting, I've checked it out a few times and never felt compelled to jump in until now.

I 100% agree our weight room is an embarrassment for the program we believe we are and I think an upgrade is about 15 years past due. Especially when baseball/softball and track have received state of the art facilities in the last 3 years (albeit it needed).

However, Kerry resigning is not a bad thing. I think it is a step in the right direction actually. His style of S&C (through no fault of his own) isn't what a program with poor discipline needs. He would give workouts to the guys and then just go sit in his office. Players could come and go as they pleased and never really had accountability, some players even refused to workout with him this year because his workouts did nothing for them. Yes, part of this is from the head coach, 100% believe that needs to be fixed, but this is at least a step in the right direction. There's a reason guys would show up and never change their physique the entire time they were here. Houston turns skinny athletes into men, we just help them look the same for four years. We need a S&C coach who makes players work their tails off and is the discipline part of this program since our Head man can't do that. You see it in football a lot of times that the S&C is the second head coach and is the one who gets players to buy in and get a better work ethic.

Don't get me wrong, I think there are more changes that need to happen, but this is a step in the right direction. If you pay close attention to really good programs, the strength coach is out there vocally leading stretches, in all the workout pump-up videos and is always around. This is a huge hire, hopefully we see another huge hire come up soon.

I haven't seen a player's body remade in a while. How many times has someone said "wait until KR gets ahold of him" in the recruiting thread only for there to be no change? This predates IB by a while. Fred was running Shaq's ass up the stairs I recall. I would say that period was the last time we had grown ass men on the floor. You also can't tell me Etienne wouldn't have been faster 10 lbs lighter.

None of this excuses the state of our facilities, program, or feckless leadership, but thirty-five years is a long time in one gig.

That is a fair post. I will say that Kerry probably became deflated during the 2018-19 time frame which decreased his motivation a bit (understandably). He still had FHCGM making sure that players were at workouts and doing what they were supposed to do. In any event, with the advent of strength coaches putting everything on social media, using novel strength and conditioning techniques, and being motivational gurus, it is probably not a horrible thing. However, the root of the problem goes back to reasons stated in the article.
