We're also a 5 seed, the highest seed weve ever been for a tournament. Again, I think that is something great. This season has been a great one, despite not having even played a game in the dance yet.Deuces Valley.

First, I will predict that Ragland goes crazy in this game...along the lines of UNLV/Creighton/Davidson-type performance. Joe was the key figure involved in last year’s phantom foul and he just got another chance for redemption. No one wants this game more than Joe.
Second, I have a difficult time seeing our veteran, highly-skilled backcourt getting flustered by such a young team, especially when they fully know what to expect. Go back and look at our 5 losses and we averaged just fewer than 14 TO's. That's not horrible and includes 17 against Bama which was one of the first games of the season and 18 in triple OT vs. Drake.
We lose when we can't throw the ball in the ocean and considering UNI's FG% I like our chances.
Finally, I believe Stutz is the X-factor in this game. If he comes ready to play and doesn't get in foul trouble then we'll win the game in the paint...When our inside/out game is working it's tough for anyone to beat us. Conversely, the next Kyles/Smith 0-fer night we're done.

That being said, as someone else mentioned, we aren't UNI. We embarrassed UNI in a game that was rarely competitive around the time you guys struggled with them, pulling away to win by 9 late. Our game with them could have been 30...in fact we could have named the score.
Our A game beats your A game, period. I have no doubt your A game beats our B game.
The likelihood of us (with all seniors) playing our A game has to be greater than the Rams with their young team, although the FF run last year is invaluable.
It seems to me that many of your fans are placing a lot of value on the success of last year....and perhaps they should. We are NOT the team you beat last season, by any way, shape or form, and having seen you guys several times lately, neither are you.
I look forward to the game, it should be fun and if you guys win, don't stop at the FF this time...go all the way.

If Stutz can have a good game against VCU maybe we'll start seeing the confident, Paul Miller esque Stutz from earlier this year. If I knew that guy would show up to evey game in this tournament I would pick us to win the whole thing.
Part of that pick would be my confidence in how good this team can be and the other part my yellow and black underwear.
I didn't like seeing VCU pop up during the selection show. That team makes me nervous. But, if we can pull out a win and get on a roll then watch out.
