Looks like we are fighting it out with ECU for 8th or 9th place in the AAC. Doesn't really matter much because we will play each other in the Thursday game and then on to the number 1 seed if we can win that game. That will more than likely be our last game this year.I won't tolerate rude behavior

Houston is 12-2, SMU is 11-3
Houston Remaining:
Vs SMU
vs Cincy
vs Temple
At Memphis
SMU Remaining
at Houston
Vs Cincy
Vs Tulane
If SMU can win the head to head this week then Houston needs to beat Memphis at their place to win it ..

I haven't seen this article on Porter posted anywhere so if it is a duplicate (regrets).
I've always liked Porter and don't feel like he's reached his ceiling yet. I hope he comes back for another year at Wichita State, but if he does put his name on the transfer portal, he could be a hot commodity.
What has followed has been a breakout season for Porter, who has become a vital part of Wichita State’s team as its starting point guard. And just like he did at Terre Haute South, Porter is filling up the stat sheet: he leads the team in assists (3.6), steals (1.4) and blocks (1.1) and ranks fourth in rebounds (4.7). In fact, Porter might have the title of the best shot-blocking point guard in the country. His block percentage of 4.62 ranks first in the country for players under 6-foot-2, per KenPom.com.

Couple of crazy stats ...- "The evidence of settling too often from beyond the arc was evident by the team finishing with the highest three-point rate (41.4% of WSU’s shots were three-pointers) in program history. It didn’t help matters that WSU’s 31.2% accuracy on triples was the sixth-worst since the three-point line was introduced in 1986. Per Synergy, WSU ranked No. 295 in the country at catch-and-shoot efficiency, despite generating the 36th-most unguarded looks."
We Need to be searching for a shooter or two. Someone that can consistently hit open shots. That and no post presence are our biggest issues (though Pohto has the ability to get there IMO even if he isn't there yet).- "it was the first team to average more turnovers than assists since 2009."
Obviously way too many TOs and not enough assists .. but I wonder how the stats would look if we could hit those open shots like in the first stat. Can't get an assist if you can't make the shot or the layup.- "Synergy’s advanced numbers pull back the curtains even further: WSU ranked No. 282 in its halfcourt offense and No. 247 in its transition offense (despite ranking in the bottom-30 in turnover rate on fast breaks). WSU was also among the worst in the nation at out-of-bounds plays, ranking No. 347 and scoring a paltry 0.60 points per possession. WSU’s 104.4 adjusted efficiency offensive rating on KenPom was the worst since 2009."
This is coaching. We need to shake up the bench if IB is still around. Find some money to get a GOOD assistant with some offensive chops and let him help devise plays. OOB plays are a coaching thing. End of Half plays are a coaching thing. Transition offense is a player and practice thing but derive from the coaching in practice.
