Baloney. Jacob Albrecht splained to all of us that WSU would still finish Top 3.

Yeah, that likely won't age well. You can bet that I will be reminding him of that at the end of the season.

This sounds about right. Will be curious if any of our covid games get made up.

Probably split with ECU, Tulsa, and USF. Maybe a fourth win if we sweep one of these teams.

I missed that one. Interesting we'll play them twice in a 3 day period.

4-6 finish with an overall record of 14-14 and 5-11 in conference. Loss in first game of AAC tourney. The way things are going Boatwrong probably gets an extension in June.

I think 4-6 is about as good as we can hope for.

Probably lose a winnable game and win one they should lose somewhere along the way.

                    Good times.

Yes. I was being optimistic. And that is really sad.

If we get a couple games rescheduled, and I would guess we will have a chance at getting that…

You don’t think they can win 4 more?

You’re all about predictions beforehand so please predict beforehand.

7 out of those 14 games listed by OP when this thread started was a .500 win percentage and they’ve won 3 of those 5 games.

                            Doesn’t really seem ridiculous lol.

Also skimming this thread is a perfect example of much of SN being reactionary and overly negative.

Most people guessed like 4 wins. Need to win 1 of next 7 to just match that, while having 2 of the games postponed.

                                Here’s my 2 cents:

Taylor Eldridge said it best: At this point, you are what your record says you are & If this team can just shoot at an average/slightly above average level, it can be a quality competitor. Especially at home.

Last night against SMU, they did exactly that. Did the glaring lack of size or problems with particular players disappear? No. But they hit some quality shots, and played some excellent defense. The scoring draught near the end didn’t matter because they were draining threes early on and created a large enough lead that made it very hard for SMU to come back. But if they didn’t hit those shots, things could have gone a different direction.

I don’t want to speculate on an outcome that didn’t happen, but it’s clear to see one thing for certain: WSU at their best can compete against the Arizona’s/SMU’s/Okie State’s of the world. At their worst, they collapse when the shooting/offensive plays aren't clicking and they collapse against Tulane’s of the world.

For me, this season is still probably a wash, unfortunately. I hope I’m wrong. I hope they go out there and spectacularly go on the road and play well, and somehow win the conference tournament. But the real adjustments will be made this offseason. Addressing the glaring issues that need reinforcement through the transfer portal and recruiting will be where the true changes will come.
