Doors open at 3:45 p.m. The WSU Spirit Squad and WUShock will also entertain.
Sunday's Gregg Marshall Radio Show replaces the Monday night show.
Wow...I'm suprised, this sounds organized and not boring with the Hitman promissing that the team will be here any minute!
Some of you "old timers" might remember we did this very thing in the 80's except they had projectors and screens setup instead of a nice scoreboard. I don't remember the year, but I remember it was when we played St. Johns. It was a great time knowing that for sure we were "in". Looking forward to it this Sunday!
I remember. I also remember the boos when Brent Musburger predicted St. Johns to the second round. I still hate Musburger to this day.
"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.
I also remember Musberger saying that. He said something like, well it looks like St. John's will be in the 2nd round.
Whoever was on camera with him, interjected that maybe not, WSU has a solid team this year, or something like it.
I remember that too. It was 1987. The last year that we won the Valley tournament. We beat Tulsa on their home court to get the auto-bid. Tulsa went into the dance as an at large team.
We were seeded #11 against #6 St. Johns. The game was played in Chicago and we ended up losing by 2 points. It was a very tight game the whole way, it is too bad we couldn't have pulled off the upset and made Brent eat his words.
