  • White, Hall and Orupke will make a nice front line next year. Orupke needs to go to one of those big-man camps this summer, though.

NCAA tournament awaits. Shox probably won't be in the midwest region.

I paraphrased because I couldn't remember the exact quote from the post game.
Sorry, amongst all the Ref discussioin, I missed how many games you have spent on the court with a whistle in your mouth?

Oh, well then STFU about what YOU know about officiating.

And why was Carmichael allowed to do whatever he wanted in the paint? I will be so happy to see non-MVC refs in the NCAA tournament.
Stutz was a non-factor tonight, as he often is against more mobile big men. We usually adjust, but didn't today. Whether that was because IllSt took us out of our game, or because of the refs or both, doesn't really matter. He was target today, and his presence, in my opinion, would not have made enough of a difference. If anything, we needed more Ragland penetration...

Wow, did he really say that?

If he did, he needs to expect a nice fine.

He got away with at least as many if not more. And a couple that were EXACTLY like fouls called on us. Consistency was NOT there with this crew.

When HCGM bitches about the refs, then you know there is no argument. Somebody in the MVC needs to watch the replay of this game very carefully.

But the SHOX need to move on... Having that feeling in the pit of their stomachs should be a good thing when the tourney starts. They fought hard all the way. Can't complain about their effort... or the coaching...

HOW IN THE WORLD DID THE REFS STOP US FROM SCORING FOR 7 MINUTES? Last I checked, they don't shoot the basketball. They don't commit 14 turnovers and shoot 34% from the field. Quit complaining about the refs. We lost the game because we failed to make baskets. We had two great looks to win the game late, and bricked them both.

Did he say it on the radio or in the post game presser? I was watching the press conference and I must have missed it if he said it on there.

Why -- to go someplace else where he still has to put up with bad calls in a worse job for more money? Sure, the Valley can be pretty bad, as we saw today, but it's hardly unique in that regard. I did like what Marshall said postgame, though: "the Valley got what they want" (i.e., no Shocks in the championship game). Tell it, Gregg.

Maybe this will get them a 6th seed instead of a 4th or 5th -- nothing wrong with that, especially if they rediscover the shooting touch that helped give them their recent streak. Facing #11, #3, and #2 (even assuming no upsets among their opponents) is an easier path to 30 wins and making Jason King a prophet.

If you are being mugged every time you go to the basket, it makes it harder to score.

                              • A tough loss. Illinois State has some players and made all but 2 of their oodles of throws. They played very physical but yet got the breaks. Even so, Brown and Moore are money when left wide open. I really hope either Evansville or the Redbirds beat Creighton and it won't be a shock if that occurs.
