To complete the analogy... Some people want to go ahead and set the house on fire because of the fear that the storm might produce a tornado that will destroy the house.

Here's the deal. The Shocks have to slow down these 5 to 10 minute scoring droughts to a mild roar. "Time Out!!!" Porter has emerged some if he stays healthy. I wouldn't mind seeing more minutes from Council and KP. MU is scoring well, but has to correct his turnover tendencies, slow-down, and pass more. TE is the main focus of our foes defensive strategies. However, he is forcing some shots and his fg and 3 pt. % are both down from last Season as a result. DD is playing solid D. and we hope he gets his offensive game more consistent. The Shockers have more turnovers as a team than assists. These are all correctable stats and now is the time to right the Shocker ship. I still believe that HCIB can get these issues corrected and our players can play much better as a team. Three words: "Teamwork! Teamwork! Teamwork!" Will our offense catch up to our defense? " Time will tell. The sooner the better. Shocks win by 9.

if the over/under favors the shox by more than 15... consider the under. if favored by 20+, double down.

Again, we're 8-3 and have looked pretty awful in a number of those wins. And looked pretty awful in two of those loses. And despite how awful we've looked, we haven't seen any real indication of the problems being addressed or anything changing.

Everything is fine. We’re 8-3 against the toughest schedule in the country. And looked spectacular doing it.

Not going to watch as nothing can be gained from it. Prairie View is atrocious and has been a traveling doormat since the beginning of traveling doormats. They are the Washington Generals of the noncon portion of the season.

Is that like when you eat all the pizza so you won't have leftover pizza around to make you fat? Asking for a friend.

I'm not advocating setting the house afire, but I'm also not saying all's well, nothing different need be done. And that seems to be the attitude of the coaching staff.

Yes, we shouldn't be sitting on the front porch while the tornado is bearing down on us .. correct....

You can correct me (as I'm not going to look it up), but I'm assuming we are 1-3 against the top 80 which means, to me anyway, that we may or may not be top 80 material depending on how we've done on teams below 80 (some much lower). Out of those remaining 7 wins to lower teams, we've had 1 solid win, 2 OK wins, with all the others all close enough that they could have gone either way (the "luck" factor is high some might say).

I'm assuming we are higher "rated" than what my eyes have told me as they tell me we may not top 80 material, maybe teetering on top 100. Maybe I'm being too hard on the team, but I've personally seen little, from the team or the coaching staff, to feel more confident than that at this point.

Nothing to correct there .. We are MAYBE a Top 80 team (ranked 74 in NET right now).. ... Is that enough to give up on the team and start calling for the coaches job 1/3 of the way through the year? That's what is happening .. Not even accounting for what was accomplished last year .. but 11 games into the new year we have 3 losses and have fans calling for the coaches job.

We are at least back to the Randy era where we need to scratch and claw for every win. If we win tonight I’m hoping we can get 11 league wins so we don’t fall below 20. Wow sad to be back in this position but you have to maintain some respectability to keep fans and get 3 star recruits.

I have been discouraged by the lackluster performances (coaching staff and players) so far this year. However, when I am feeling down about the team, the question I ask myself is this: "if we beat Houston tomorrow, would the season be back on track?". At this point, I would say absolutely. As such, I am willing to give the team a little more time to figure things out.
